What is a Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker?
First, maybe you are asking yourself…what is a Ninja Foodi?
It’s the only appliance you will ever need. If you purchase a Ninja Foodi, you can safely pass on your Air Fryer, Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, or Crock-Pot. Why?
It’s all of these things…in one! It even bakes!
These recipes specifically use a Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker, if you are looking for Ninja Speedi Recipes, check out this post on Speedi Recipes.

- Air Fryer Function (Air Crisp)
- Pressure Cook Function
- Grill Function

What can you make in the Ninja Foodi?
This is the fabulous part about using the Ninja Foodi. All the recipes you see that are Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, or Air Fryer work the same way in the Ninja Foodi. It’s the best small appliance.
Did I mention it bakes too? YES! It will replace your oven. I’m just saying.
The Ninja Foodi looks very similar to an Instant Pot, but it functions like many appliances all in one. If I’m making a slow cooker meal, I put it in the Ninja Foodi and it’s ready to go in the evening just like if I was using my slow cooker.
That’s the same for the Instant Pot as well. If you want to make Instant Pot Meatballs, it works the exact same way!
Favorites to make in the Ninja Foodi:
- Roasted Potatoes
- Chicken Breast and Chicken Thighs
- Steak
- Ninja Foodi Ribs
- Bacon
- Chicken Wings
- Pot Roast
- Sweet Potatoes
- Pork Chops
- French Fries
- Casserole
- Beans
- Sweet Potato Fries
How does the Ninja Foodi convert from a slow cooker, pressure cooker, and air fryer?
The Ninja Foodi comes with two lids, which means you have a lid that’s already attached to it that is used for air crisp or air fryer. There is also a basket that goes inside the pot for the air fryer as well.
If you plan to use the pressure cooker option or slow cooker option, there is a second lid for it called the pressure cooker lid. This lid looks very similar to the Instant Pot lid and it also comes with a rack for your pot as well just like the Instant Pot.
Check out my Honest Review of the Ninja Foodi!
If you are using the updated Ninja Foodi with the smart lid, you would slide the slider over to lock the lid in place and choose the ‘slow cooker’ function. Be sure to keep the nozzle on VENT when slow cooking.
This glass lid is a great option to use for slow cooking as well.

Does this emites lots of steam or smoke, my smoke alarm is so sensitive i can’t use my oven without setting the alarm off.
Mommy Hates Cooking says
The Ninja Foodi doesn’t put off any smoke that I’ve seen, it does release steam like an Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker.

Just received a Foodi for Christmas and wondering. Anything special to do or adjustments to time when using a Foodi vs an Instapot? All the recipes I have looked out link to Instapot recipes and I want to make sure I am not missing something.
Mommy Hates Cooking says
I’ve never found there to be any adjustment it’s typically going to be the same cook time and methods between both.

Some recipes using the Ninja Foodi require a ceramic dish/bowl. Where did you find yours?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
I use this set of dishes – https://amzn.to/39v45aP (This is an affiliate link too) – I also use these as well – https://amzn.to/33oAxI4 and https://amzn.to/39oTXAj (All Amazon Affiliate Links) but you can search them at various retailers. These work well for me in it. I don’t normally use any ceramic in it but similar size dishes that are ceramic would work as well, just be sure to put them on the wire rack that comes with it so it doesn’t scratch the pot.
