Grab the Ninja Foodi and learn how to make hard-boiled eggs in the Ninja Foodi using this simple method!
If you struggle with getting your hard-boiled eggs to set up just right, you will never have that problem again using the 5-5-5 method in the Ninja Foodi. This recipe is a must on your list of Ninja Foodi Recipes.
This simple method is fool-proof and so easy to do, not only does it take just 5 minutes to cook the eggs but the shell just peels right off. It’s really that easy!
How do you boil eggs in the Ninja Foodi?
In the Ninja Foodi, the eggs will be cooked using the 5-5-5 method or the pressure cooker. In the Ninja Foodi, you will need the pressure cooker lid.
I also like to use the wire rack for these, once you have the pot inserted along with the wire rack into the Ninja Foodi, at this point, you will want to add 1 cup of water.
What is the 5-5-5 Method for Hard-Boiled Eggs?
This Egg Steamer Rack is a great choice; however, you can just lay them on the wire rack that came with the Ninja Foodi as well.
After that is added, secure the lid and move the nozzle to ‘seal’. Then, you will cook them on high pressure for 5 minutes, this starts the 5-5-5 method.
Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for even more recipes!
Once you have the eggs cooked, they need to naturally release (do nothing) for 5 minutes in the pressure cooker.
Once the eggs are done, with these 2 steps, it’s time for the last part of the 5-5-5 method. The eggs will then need to be added to an ice bath or iced water for 5 minutes.
How long do Hard-Boiled Eggs last?
Hard-Boiled Eggs generally last up to 1 week in the fridge. They also need to be put in the fridge immediately after cooking if you aren’t planning to eat them immediately.
We prefer to make about a dozen hard-boiled eggs each week and that’s part of our Sunday routine, making the hard-boiled eggs in the Ninja Foodi and if you need a boost of protein to go with your snack for the week or breakfast, it’s ready!
How should you peel the hard-boiled egg?
The best way I’ve found to quickly peel the egg is to lightly crack it all the way around and start to peel the shell. The 5 minutes in the ice bath greatly helps you easily peel the egg.
If you would prefer you can even peel the egg under the water, this helps release it too.
Now, this is the best method to make Deviled Eggs too, I’ll be showing you a complete recipe for Ninja Foodi Deviled Eggs soon!

Got my Foodi about a couple of weeks ago and tried this recipe. My sister bought me accessories for my foodi (Birthday present) so I used the egg racks and cooked a dozen, They came out perfect!!! Even though I have joined multiple Ninja Foodi groups on Facebook I like to Google recipes and I seem to come across yours frequently. Thank you so much I love your site. I also cooked hashbrown recipe from your site my son loved it and so did I!!

So happy to heart that! If you ever have any questions just let me know, we use it almost every day!
Erin says
If you aren’t doing 12 eggs can you use the same method?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Yes you can do it for less too.
Shannon says
After the eggs have cooked and are doing a natural release, do you have to do a quick release to unlock or will the 5 minutes have been enough?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Typically after 5 minutes there won’t be much steam left, but just quick release that and then unlock.
Noor says
Is it really important to have them placed in ice water? Would cold water do?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Yes, it stops them from cooking more and cools them down to peel, similar to this – https://www.tablespoon.com/meals/how-to-peel-hard-boiled-eggs

Tried this today and made egg mayonnaise sandwiches in 20 mins…
Delicious, no hitches. Your recipe seems failsafe.
Thank you.

Just wondering if the eggs have to be room temperature before cooking?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
I don’t usually bring them to room temp, just straight from the fridge.
Chuck says
Thank you

Do you have times for soft boiled eggs?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
I would use this method for soft boiled – https://www.acouplecooks.com/instant-pot-soft-boiled-eggs/
Corrina says
Do you peel your eggs immediately after cooking or do you wait until you’re going to eat them to peel them?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
I peel ours right after they come out of the ice bath, then store them in the fridge until we are ready to eat them.

I used 12 Large Organic Brown eggs in my Ninja Foodie XL.
After the 5 minute pressure cook and the 5 minute natural release, I vented and opened the Foodie. Two of the eggs were already cracked wide open.
Is this common, and, if so should I reduce pressure cook time to something like 4-minutes?
Thank you for the recipe writeup.
Blessings,
Wes
Mommy Hates Cooking says
It happens occasionally but not often, you can do 4 minutes too, it won’t be as hard of yolk but it would still work, you would basically do the same thing with a 4-4-4 method.

Perfect!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Perfect eggs for eggs salad sandwiches!!!
Johna says
I don’t ever want to boil eggs again! These peeled so easily and looked beautiful! My deviled eggs were so pretty, no divets this time! I didn’t catch the venting in time, so mine went a little long and were overdone slightly. We’re not picky about that, though, so no worries! Thanks for this! I’m the official deviled egg maker for family gatherings, upwards of 30 at our dinners. I’m wondering if I would add my second rack and do 18 eggs. Any thoughts on how much time to allow? Thanks in advance!
Mommy Hates Cooking says
I think you could probably do 18.
Mia says
I do 18 eggs. Put 2 cups of water instead of 1 and still follow the 5-5-5 rule.
AB says
I made these tonight and they were perfect! My first eggs in my new Foodi Deluxe. In 25 minutes I had egg salad sandwiches all made! I did 4 eggs. Thanks for the help!
Ronni says
Hi, I’m new to all this, but can’t wait to try out my new Foodie XL!
Are any adjustments required for extra large or even jumbo eggs? Should I increase the time? THANK YOU
Mommy Hates Cooking says
You might want to add a minute to it.
Odessa says
I did exactly like the recipe said. But about 30 seconds after it started cooking, the seal opened by itself and steam came shooting out. Scared me! What’s up with that?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Make sure the nozzle is fully secured, it shouldn’t do that though but it would be a manufacturer issue if so, you would want to call Ninja directly.

Never fails!!

The only method I use for hard cooked eggs they come out perfectly. Thank you!
Michelle says
This cooking method is the best by far, I just cooked the best hard boiled I have EVER made in my life!! I’m never hard boiling eggs any other way as long as I have my foodi! Thank you
Kim says
Pressure cooked 2 dozed eggs at once. Just popped them all in basket on top of one another straight from the fridge and followed the recipe. Worked beautifully and the shells nearly jumped off themselves! I feel like another dozen may have fit! Thanks for this great super fast recipe! Made 48 deviled eggs in no time.
NC Bishop says
i USE THIS METHOD ALL THE TIME TO COOK HARD BOILED EGGS. HOWEVER, WHEN PEELING THEM, I RUN THEM UNDER SLIGHTLY WARM WATER WHICH MAKES FOR EASIER PEELING. THEN BACK INTO THE ICE WATER FOR A SHORT TIME. WONDERFUL WAY TO MAKE PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL HARD BOILED EGGS!
Judy Maresh says
should i turn the warmer off or leave it on for the second five of nr
Mommy Hates Cooking says
It can stay on during the natural release.
Pamela Mann says
I never use the ice bath. Just run egg under water to cool if needed and peel and it just falls off. I crack a little first of course. No need to waste ice seriously, the eggs peel beautifully. If you want to use ice to cool down that is fine, but if you don’t have time for 5 minute cool down, just run under water and peel right after taking out. Works every time!
Mine also break on occassion, like two or three if I do a dozen. My Ninja recipe says 4 minutes so maybe that is why.
I am surprised by the comment they stacked a dozen eggs on top of each other and they came out perfect! Usually that causes cracking. I’ll try that again!
Paul says
My foodie does a warmup so the directions over cook my eggs. The machine takes over 5 minutes to preheat in high pressure mode so I’m guessing that I preheat first then put in the eggs? I’m going to try again tonight. If this is the case, then I guess it’s a 5-5-5-5 method.
Gloria says
Hi I want to try this but when watching your video you said to put the rack in the low position but when you are putting the eggs on the rack and taking them off the rack it’s on the high position. Does it matter? Thanks I can’t wait to try it.
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Hi! It doesn’t really matter, but if choosing I would do lowest position.
Richard A Ferg says
Works like a charm! Easy to peel and perfectly done!
Belinda Hardie says
Thank you so much I know it was just eggs but for me I accomplish something I have owned my ninja for 4 years and was to scared to use it so today I thought I would try it found your step by step video it was great thank you so very much.

This worked perfectly!!!!
It took my foodi pressure 15mins to build up, but after that it was the 5-5 method for me, I was in a bit of a hurry since it took so long to pressure up, BUT I put the eggs in cold tap water (we have well water so it is cold) and let them set for just a second and started peeling them, THEY WERE THE EASIEST EGGS I’VE EVER PEELED!!! I cooked 16 organic brown eggs, used 1-1/4cup of water, 2 busted while cooking, but I will use this method from now on! I do have a question- has anyone else had the issue of the eggs being a little brown when peeled, not burnt brown but just not a bright white like usual?
