It’s the last weekend of April, that means it’s time for a menu plan!
Can you believe it’s almost May?! Where did these months go? Here in Oklahoma, May typically is our start to summer. My son will get out of school here in just a couple weeks, my daughter will follow right after too. I’m still trying to figure out what we are going to do this summer.
We actually aren’t planning any big vacations, which is a switch from years past. We’ve gone somewhere for a week or more every year the past several years. We decided this year that we really just want a week with my husband home and to spend the days at the lake or around the house. I think sometimes that’s necessary too.
He has a limited amount of vacation, so it will be nice for him to just be able to enjoy some time at home, when he’s normally at work.
The challenge for me though is to figure out what to do with the kids this summer. We typically spend the summer at the pool, but our local pool that we go to is undergoing renovations, which means I have no idea where we are going swimming yet! It honestly makes me want to get a pool, but I also don’t want the upkeep of one either.
Decisions, decisions!
It also means the start of grilling season, although we’ve been grilling for a while…now it will become a regular thing. I feel like everything slows down in the summer. I don’t feel the rush to get the kids to bed, it’s nice to just stay outside and enjoy the evenings.
