Just as the homes we live in need to be cared for, so does our planet. As we head into Earth Monday, I’m sharing 5 Simple Ways to Encourage Kids to Save the Planet.
This post is sponsored by Kimberly- Clark Family Care Brands but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
As a kid, I don’t know that I actually understood the need for ‘saving the planet’ until I reached adulthood and truly realized how certain things really affect the world around us. I often think of the things we have to do regularly to keep our homes in shape, which then makes me realize how many things we SHOULD be doing to help keep our planet in shape too.
My husband and I are trying to teach our kids these things as well, so that even as kids they will fully understand the need for things such as water conservation and recycling. It’s such a vital aspect that has to be dealt with if we want this planet to be livable years from now.
A wonderful partnership has formed between Kimberly-Clark Corporation and World Wildlife Fund along with Amazon to help us all save our planet together. Did I mention it’s very convenient too? Right now you can head on over to Amazon and stock up on your favorite products such as Kleenex, Viva Paper Towels, Scott, and Cottonelle. They even make rolls without the actual cardboard roll in the middle, did you know that?
As I was browsing for products that we needed, I was surprised by that. I actually didn’t know that was an option, but what a good option at that, when the cardboard roll isn’t actually necessary.
Kimberly-Clark Corporation and the WWF have formed an agreement to last over the next 3 years that will raise awareness of the importance of using fiber from responsibly managed forest. This is due to their partnership with Forest Stewardship Council® and their gold standard. By purchasing these Kimberly-Clarke products, you are supporting this partnership and taking pride in getting the most earth friendly paper products too.
Not only that but if you head over to this Amazon website, you can be entered to win a trip to Banff, Canada. That is a dream of mine, the natural beauty is breathtaking, wouldn’t it be fabulous to see it in person?
I’ve just recently started to purchase our paper products on Amazon. I also saved money, plus if you have subscribe and save you can save even more. Since we live in the country, I really loathe driving into town to the stores sometimes. With Amazon, those necessary products like toilet paper and paper towels can be delivered right to my doorstep!
That means, I don’t have to actually go anywhere, plus I’m saving a lot of money on them too.
Now, what are simple ways to help save our planet?
Here are a few that we are working to do each day!
5 Simple Ways to Encourage Kids to Save the Planet
-
Recycle
Teach them about recycling from a young age. They are typically excited about it, and it’s a great way to encourage a recycling station in your home as well.
-
Water Usage
Teach them to turn the water off when not in use, for example when brushing their teeth.
-
Don’t Litter
Teach them to put trash in the trashcan or the recycle bin from a young age and educate them on how littering affects our planet.
-
Always Turn Off the Lights
Make it a point and a rule in the home to turn the lights off after you leave the rooms, this is one that can become an easy habit, so they always remember to turn it off.
-
Explore Nature
Go on nature walks and educate them on the planet as a whole and how the trees and different aspects of nature help us in other ways.
What would you add to the list? Now, it’s time to encourage your kids to join you and help save the planet. Plus be sure to enter to win a trip to Banff, Canada and grab some great deals on your favorite earth friendly paper products.
Happy ‘Almost’ Earth Monday!
