Use a frozen apple pie to make the EASIEST dessert with this Pellet Grill Smoked Apple Pie!
Are you ready for a fantastic Pellet Grill Smoked Apple Pie? This dessert is an easy one to add to your cookout and list of pellet grill recipes.
What do you need for Pellet Grill Smoked Apple Pie?
Plus it’s ONE ingredient…FROZEN APPLE PIE!
That’s right, that’s all you need. That means you could actually do this with a variety of pies such as blueberry or peach. Take your pick.
If you want to make the apple pie from scratch, use your favorite recipe or this one from Traeger, but for this method we are going to focus on a store-bought frozen pie.
This recipe specifically uses Marie Callender’s Apple Pie.
Do you need to defrost the apple pie?
This pie does not need to be defrosted. It can be taken straight from the box and placed right on the heated pellet grill or smoker at 400°F.
How long do you cook Pellet Grill Smoked Apple Pie?
This will be cooked at 400°F for 60 minutes. After the 60 minutes, carefully add the topping to the pie that comes with it and let it brown for an additional 10 minutes.
It’s best to use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. It needs to be at least 165°F to be considered done. We used a Green Mountain Grill and this took exactly an hour.
Once it has reached the optimal temperature, carefully remove it and serve it. We like to serve ours with vanilla ice cream and homemade caramel sauce.
This will literally melt in your mouth. We’ve found that it works out wonderfully to put this on the smoker or pellet grill after getting the main meal off the grill.
It gives everyone plenty of time to enjoy their meal and an hour later, dessert will be ready!
Enjoy!

After reading a few of your recipes, I really need to think about using our grill for more than meat. Thank you for sharing, I do not always like to warm up the oven in the summer since it makes the house that much warmer. Great thinking using the grill.
I bet this smelled amazing while it was cooking! Thanks for sharing on SSPS, hope to see you again next week.
