Enjoy a refreshing drink with one of these Italian Cream Sodas!
My love of Italian Cream Sodas started when I worked my first job as a barista at a coffee shop in town. It was by far my favorite job too, I don’t know what it was about it but I loved it.
Maybe that wonderful smell of coffee that drifted through the air? Of course, I always went home smelling like a coffee bean, but it was worth it!
I still remember how to make every single drink even decades later!
Crazy that it’s been that long too! One of our favorites though is Italian Cream Sodas.
I love to keep everything on hand to make these when guests come over, especially during the spring and summer.
Where do you purchase flavored syrups?
My son and I went all over town looking for the syrups for these. I used to be able to easily find them at Walmart, but for some reason, I could not find them there this time.
I did find the same brand at another retailer in town but they were twice the price for a tiny bottle.
I decided to make the trek to our local restaurant supply store because I knew they had large bottles of syrup there. I was in luck, they sure did and they were not much either!
Plus, they literally have EVERY flavor that you could possibly imagine. (Update – I have now been purchasing Skinny Syrups on Amazon! These are sugar-free.)
Sometimes you can find tons of the Skinny Syrups at Marshall’s too for half the price of Amazon.
If you enjoy this drink, be sure to check out this pink drink too!
What is the best flavor for an Italian Cream Soda?
We decided to stick with my favorites, orange, strawberry, and raspberry. The orange taste like a creamsicle, it’s SO GOOD! That one was my daughter’s favorite.
I typically always get Raspberry Italian Cream Sodas, but I’ll admit that I am leaning toward the orange. It was just too good.
Wildberry Italian Cream Sodas are also perfect, this is using an equal amount of Raspberry and Strawberry.
My husband had at least 10 of these on the 4th of July! They kept me busy making drinks, but I can’t blame them, they are delicious.
How do you make Italian Cream Sodas?
I typically will use fat-free cream and a diet sprite to make these. They can be made with club soda as well.
When I worked in the coffee shop, we used seltzer water to make them along with the syrup and cream.
Now, once you decide on a flavor it’s time to whip up your Italian Cream Soda.
What do you need for Italian Cream Sodas?
- Cream
- Flavored Syrups
- Club Soda, Seltzer Water, Sprite, Etc.
Once you have all that you need it’s time to whip up this delicious drink.
I have made them enough that I rarely measure anything out, it is about 2 Tbsp of syrup, and then fill up the cup with half cream and half soda for the rest.
Once you have done that, simply stir and top with whipped cream and you have yourself a great Italian Cream Soda.
It’s important to note, these images show them not stirred to give you a definition of the syrup and the layers, but you would want to stir up the syrup before serving.
These are perfect for parties because you can have everything sitting out as a little soda bar to make drinks for guests.
The kids love it because they can have one too! Now it’s time to cool off with an Italian Cream Soda!
Grab the Syrup!
Are you in need of syrups? You are in luck because Amazon carries them! Check out the syrups here! Enjoy!

You should try MONIN syrups. They are wonderful and they have sugar free also.
I am going to try some of those! I saw some on amazon recently but hadn’t had them before. Thanks for recommending them!

There used to be a cart outside my work place that sold Italian sodas and I loved them! Thanks for sharing on MM. Pinned and will be featuring this.
Lol! I accidentally pressed done on my last comment. I tried the Italian cream soda with raspberry syrup and it was Soo good! I usually get a raspberry Italian cream soda at Dutch Bros and it’s so nice to be able to make it from home! They the exact same!!! A good place to find the syrup is also cash and carry/ smart food service. I found club soda, half and half, and every single flavor of flavored syrup imaginable. They also had a huge freezer with a huge variety of whipped creams next to the half and half. I would rate this 10/10 and I would definitely recommend this to anyone! (Make sure you use exact measurements or get a close estimate or it won’t taste the same)
Yay! These are my favorite too. That sounds like an amazing place to get the flavored syrups!!! I’m so glad you shared that.
I’ve never tried these Kristy, but I totally intrigued by this recipe.
Thank you for sharing your Italian cream sodas recipe at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather this week. I’m delighted to be featuring it at tonight’s party and pinning too.
Hugs,

It’s sooo good I actually had sonic make it for me!!!!
This looks good! Curious- why doesn’t 7-up work?
The flavoring of the 7-Up and the carbonation level just does not mix well with the Italian Soda. It will not taste right. The sprite has a good mix of lemon and lime and 7-up is more of a citrus/lemon only flavor.
Thank you so much for sharing on the Senior Salon Pit Stop! I’ll be featuring your recipe on Monday’s #SSPS.
Congrats! Pinned
