Make the BEST Grilled Steaks on your Pellet Grill with these Pellet Grill Balsamic Steaks!
I love using my Pellet Grill, do you? I use the Pellet Grill at least 3 times a week to make a variety of Pellet Grill Recipes, lately, these Pellet Grill Balsamic Steaks hit the spot!
The Pellet Grill makes grilling so easy and the taste is just perfect. We have a Hasty-Bake Charcoal Grill too, but I just love how easy the Pellet Grill is for the same great flavor and taste.
If you are looking for smoked steaks that are cooked low and slow, check out these Pellet Grill-Smoked Steaks. These steaks can be used on a traditional smoker or pellet grill.
This post today will focus on traditional grilling methods, remember that while I prefer the pellet grill these can also be made easily on a charcoal grill too.
What type of pellets should you use for Balsamic Steaks?
Hickory Wood Pellets compliment the flavors of these steaks well; however, we typically use a blend of pellets.
Remember that the pellet flavor you choose will directly enhance the flavor of your meat.
How long does it take to grill a steak at 450 degrees F?
The ribeyes that we used were about 1 1/2 inches thick, these took about 14 minutes to grill, 7 minutes on each side, and came to a temperature of 145 degrees F. This is the method when keeping the grill at medium-high heat, which is about 450 degrees F.
The temperature will depend on your desired doneness. We prefer just a little bit of pink, if you like yours more medium rare then it will take less time.
As always the times may vary due to the heat that your pellet grill is putting off, but it’s best to have a meat thermometer or probe on hand.
What is the serving size of a Ribeye?
The average size of Ribeye is 12-16oz. For this recipe, we used 2 Ribeyes and then we cut them in half. That gave us 4 servings. The nutritional information in the recipe card below will vary based on the amount of steak you eat.
The full instructions will be in the recipe card.
Tips for Making Balsamic Steaks:
It’s best to use your preferred steak seasoning on the steaks, we always use a gluten-free steak seasoning. A combination of black pepper and kosher salt will work perfectly as well if you do not have steak seasoning on hand, any spices that you prefer are fine to use.
If you want to marinate your steaks, check out this simple steak marinade.
Once the steaks have been seasoned, place them in a pan and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. It’s best to have the steak rest to get all the juices flowing.
When you are ready to grill the steaks, while the grill warms up, go ahead and let the steaks rest at room temperature. The steaks will be placed directly on the grill grates.
The mushrooms are going to be prepared in a cast iron skillet that is grill-safe, the balsamic vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil will be combined and swirled on the bottom of the pan. Then, the mushrooms, onions, clove of garlic, and kosher salt will be added to the pan.
This can go on the grill at the same time as the steaks, place both onto the grill grates and close the lid. When you go to flip the steaks over, give the vegetables a nice stir to mix them up. These should be soft and translucent when done. We take these off at the same time as we take the steaks off, but this will depend on your desired doneness for the steaks.
This combination creates balsamic glazed vegetables, balsamic mushrooms, and onions, that are perfect to top over the Ribeyes. The ribeyes should be nice and tender as you slice and serve them.
This is an easy, gluten-free recipe that can level up your typical grilled steak. These pair wonderfully with Smoked Brussels Sprouts.
Now, are you ready to head to the backyard and enjoy some great food? I am!

We are definitely a meat and potatoes kind of house, especially in the cold and gross winter. I have never tried a balsamic glaze on steak, but I would love to try it. Sounds like it would be the perfect sweet and spicy addition!

I haven’t eaten meat in a few years, and never really truly enjoyed it. My husband on the other hand loves a good steak! He’s from Italy and so he eats his as simple as possible (with just a pinch of salt and some olive oil). He doesn’t understand how us North Americans douse our steaks in BBQ sauce! lol!
