How do you make gluten-free breaded chicken tenders?
A few swaps will be needed for this recipe so that you can make it gluten-free. This includes using gluten-free flour, gluten-free breadcrumbs, and gluten-free ranch seasoning.
I have been able to use Hidden Valley Ranch Packets, these are now labeled gluten-free.
If you do not want to use the store-bought packets, use this Homemade Ranch Seasoning.
In regards to the flour choice, be sure to use a 1:1 ratio all-purpose flour that is gluten-free. This means it’s an even swap from regular flour to gluten-free flour.
Our favorite flour is Better Batter; however, King Arthur and Bob’s Red Mill work great too.
It’s best to use gluten-free panko breadcrumbs; however, any will work but the panko will give it a better texture.
These will be the only swaps needed.
How do you make golden brown chicken tenders?
In order to get the beautiful crispy chicken tenders that you see in the pictures, using an oil spray is the key to getting that crispy outer layer and sometimes it means combining it with the broil function of the oven.
Using a nice coat of Grapeseed Oil Spray or Olive Oil Spray will give the gluten free chicken tenders enough oil for them to crisp up during the cooking time.
I prefer to use Grapeseed Oil spray as it has a high smoke point compared to Olive Oil Spray; however, I have used both without issue.
If they are not crisp enough for your liking, you can also broil them for 3-5 minutes on low at the end of the cooking time.
Tips for Making Gluten Free Ranch Chicken Tenders:
Ranch Chicken Tenders are made using chicken strips, which is done by using chicken tenderloins, along with a flour, breadcrumbs, and eggs.
The chicken will first be dipped in the flour mixture, then coated with the egg mixture and rolled in the breadcrumbs before being placed on a prepared large baking sheet or cookie sheet.
The important thing to remember is that they need to be in an even layer. We like to use a parchment lined baking sheet, but you can also coat it with nonstick cooking spray or use aluminum foil instead if you prefer.
Once you have the tenders ready to cook, they will go into the oven at 375°F and will be done when the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F. This can be checked with a meat thermometer. They normally take 15-20 minutes to completely cook.
The tenders should be a nice golden brown when done, or as said above you can also broil them for a few minutes to get the cooked tenders even more crisp.
Dipping Sauces for Chicken Tenders:
This go-to recipe can be made in minutes and served with your favorite dipping sauce such as:
- Barbecue Sauce
- Ranch Dressing
- Honey Mustard
- Buffalo Sauce
- Spicy Ranch Dressing
How do you reheat chicken tenders?
The chicken tenders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
When ready to reheat, place on a microwave-safe plate and heat for 2-3 minutes in the microwave.
They can also be reheated in the oven or air fryer at 350°F for 4-5 minutes.
This is a great way to enjoy these chicken tenders the next day!
Now you have a new go-to recipe that will soon be a family favorite with these tasty tenders!
