Tips for Making Slow Cooker Ham:
Once you are ready to make your brown sugar ham, the first step will be making the brown sugar glaze.
The glaze ingredients combine melted sugar, light brown sugar, and honey mustard.
It will be rubbed over the whole ham once it’s placed into the slow cooker.
After the ham is in the slow cooker, pour the entire can of pineapple chunks or pineapple tidbits over the top of the ham. The pineapple juice will enhance the flavor of the fully cooked ham.
The ham will then be cooked on LOW for 4 hours in the slow cooker or Crockpot. Remember this ham that is being used is already cooked, so low heat is being used to warm up the ham.
Keeping a meat thermometer on hand is best to check the internal temperature. It should be at least 145 degrees F before serving.
How do you store leftover ham?
This ham is large enough to feed a crowd of up to 10 people, which means you may have plenty of leftovers to store.
The best way to reheat the ham is to place it on a microwave-safe dish and heat for 2-3 minutes in the microwave.
The leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
They can also be used for a variety of recipes such as this Slow Cooker Ham Soup.
