Leftover ham can easily be used for this Dill Ham Salad.
Dill Ham Salad is the perfect choice for leftover ham. It’s our go-to, especially after Easter. It never fails, I always buy way too much ham.
I just get so nervous that I won’t have enough, then I end up with WAY too much. That is fine with me though when I know ham salad is coming next!
As Easter quickly approaches, soon ham will be gracing the table of families around the world but then it will soon become leftovers!
What is there to do with all those leftovers? Why not make this delicious Dill Ham Salad?
I bought two hams this year and we ended up with a full ham leftover. I’m not sure if that has ever happened, normally I’m always afraid we will run out. I’m guessing maybe it was because they were bigger this year?
Regardless, I’ve been eating ham for nearly 2 weeks it feels like and after about round 4 of leftovers, I decided it was time for Dill Ham Salad.
What can you make with leftover Ham?
When I think of ham salad, my mind immediately goes back to being a kid and growing up at the pool. I was a pool bum, to say the least.
My grandma used to take us to the pool just about daily during the summers. We would stop on our way at the local grocery store and she would stock up on ingredients to make ham salad sandwiches.
Then, we would stop by our local QT and fill up our Koozies full of our favorite slushie.
Next up…pool time. Funny how something like a ham salad sandwich can completely take you back down memory lane, isn’t it?
I remember the smells of the pool and really everything about it when I think of ham salad sandwiches, it immediately takes me back to that.
I really miss those days sometimes, but I also look forward to sharing them with my kids.
What do you need for Easy Dill Ham Salad?
- Plain Greek Yogurt
- Mayo
- Sour Cream
- Dill Weed
- Seasoned Salt
- Parsley
- Ham
- Green Onions
- Celery
These are super simple and versatile ingredients, the yogurt can also be substituted with cream cheese as well. We use that quite a bit also depending on which one we have on hand.
If I weren’t gluten-free, I would be serving this on top of a buttery croissant, but it’s also great with regular bread, crackers, or on a salad.
Enjoy!
