Make delicious burgers with these Onion Soup Mix Burgers!
I love using Onion Soup Mix for a variety of recipes such as the Slow Cooker Onion Soup Chicken.
After making this, I noticed a few recipes on the box including Onion Soup Mix Burgers.
I was anxious to try this in our burgers because we like to add variations of seasonings each time that we make burgers.
How to make Lipton Onion Soup Mix Burgers
Making these burgers was extremely simple as it just included adding a little water with the soup packet. The taste? They were delicious!
My husband was just as impressed as I was. We topped ours with additional onions and lettuce then drizzled BBQ Sauce on top!
These burgers are the perfect combination of flavors with very little work on your part. We used a fun burger pan for the grill too.
These are pretty fabulous because they keep the burgers together instead of the dreaded falling apart midway through cooking.

This is the perfect way to make burgers with Lipton Onion Soup Mix. If you prefer, you can also use this homemade onion soup mix too.
How long should you cook a hamburger?
It’s best to keep a quick read thermometer on hand, the meat should be at least 165 degrees to be well done.
What Onion Soup Mix should you use?
Over the years, I have fallen in love with making mixes myself, so I like to use this Copycat Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix recipe to make the onion soup mix myself.
It’s so easy and uses ingredients right from your pantry, which means you do not actually need to go out and buy the mix; however, if you prefer, by all means, use Lipton Onion Soup Mix Packets. It’ll work just as well!
What do you need for Onion Soup Mix Burgers?
- Ground Beef
- Water
- Onion Soup Mix
- Hamburger Buns
These can also be made as Ninja Foodi Onion Soup Mix Burgers too!
Onion Soup Mix Burgers
Ingredients
- 2 Lbs Ground Beef
- 1 Packet Onion Soup Mix Dry
- 1/4 Cup Water
- Hamburger Buns or Udi’s Gluten Free Hamburger Buns
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine ground beef, onion soup mix, and water.
- Form the beef into patties, this should make 8 patties.
- Place on the grill or stovetop in a skillet on medium heat.
- Next, cook on both sides about 10 minutes each or until well done or until your preference at least 165 degrees.
- Serve with your favorite toppings.

Now if I wanted to make these in the oven what temperature and how long?
Oven burgers are usually cooked at 350 degrees for 20 minutes to your desired doneness.

This one is a classic for a reason. It’s so good! I remember my mother making burgers this way and it’s how I make my burgers now.

How do you make this gluten free when the soup mix has wheat in the ingredients?
