Get Game Day ready with these Football Sausage Rolls!
It’s almost time for the Big Game, are you ready yet? I’ve been upping my game on recipe ideas to get ready for our Game Day celebration including these fun Football Sausage Rolls!
Tips for Making Football Sausage Rolls:
These sausage rolls use a smoked sausage rope, like the one pictured here, and crescent rolls. Then, it’s simple to make the lines of the football with white icing.
These sausages will be cut in half lengthwise. Once they are cut in half lengthwise, then you can cut them again in smaller pieces. This made about 8 sausage rolls with 1 rope, but it will vary a bit depending on how big they are cut.
At this point, you will roll out the crescent dough and cut it into long strips, then wrap it around the sausage, and then let them bake in the oven.
Once they are fully cooled, it’s easy to add the football laces to each roll and you have the perfect themed snack for your Game Day table.
Can you make Football Sausage Rolls in the Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi?
These can be made in the Air Fryer or in the Ninja Foodi using the Air Crisp function. The same method would be followed as is with these Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket.
Once you are ready to cook these sausage rolls, you would cook them at 390*F for 5-8 minutes until the crescent roll is nice and golden brown.
What should you serve Football Sausage Rolls with?
They can be paired with Homemade Ranch Dressing for dipping too.
We like to add these to our game day recipes to give a savory addition to some of those sweet game day treats!
If you enjoy these, you’ll love these Sausage Pepper Rolls too, these add some kick to the sausage rolls.
Enjoy these tasty Football Sausage Rolls!

These look so delicious! We buy the Hillshire Farms sausage all the time…it’s so yummy and versatile, too. I love how you made these look like footballs…too cute! And gosh, isn’t Southern Living the best for inspiration?
I’m a vegetarian living in Denmark, so this recipe is a no-go for me, but I love SuperBowl weekend because the grocery stores here bring in all sorts of American products that I can’t otherwise buy here. I actually saw an Old El Paso display the other day, but alas… no gordita kits 🙁
These are so cute and so easy to make! What a perfect game day addition for our family!
This sounds like a tasty new version of the old “pigs in a blanket” snack. These really sound like they are great. I am definitely bookmarking this page and trying this soon. Thank you for this great comfort food.
Oh my Goodness your appetizers or treats for the superbowl are so cute and very creative. I think anyone would enjoy them and will be wanting to take pictures of your table to share just because the buns look like footballs. Too cute!
We are huge sausage fans around this house and love Hillshire Farms. We had some this week and are having some sausage tom. I will have to show these to my hubby. He will love the shape of them. They are great for any party or football game.
I used to hate cooking as well, but step-by-step I learnd to enjoy it. Nice to know other women relate, and thanks for the awesome recipes!
My kids LOVE “pigs in a blanket.” This is a perfect twist on that treat. Just right for the big game. This would even be a great snack for my son after his football games. Thanks so much for sharing.
