What is Bruschetta Crostini?

Bruschetta crostini is traditionally made with toasted bread topped with a fresh tomato mixture. The bread is typically brushed with olive oil, toasted until crisp, and then topped with the fresh ingredients. The good news is you can use a gluten-free baguette and make this same recipe gluten-free if needed.
Bruschetta can also be served on top of meat, such as with this Baked Chicken Bruschetta. It can be served on top of salad or greens, too. There is a variety of serving options outside of simply using bread.
Should you use fresh ingredients for Bruschetta?

Fresh ingredients are a MUST in my opinion for bruschetta, which is why this recipe is so wonderful if you have your own garden too. That means you can grab your tomatoes and herbs right from your own backyard, your local farmer’s market, or grocery store.

The other thing to remember is to use high-quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar; these also make a difference. My go-to is Pompeian, but any high-quality brand will work.
Tips for Making Bruschetta:

Although you can serve this in a variety of ways, we are focusing today on bread. This bread does need to be toasted to really give it the crisp texture that you are going for with the Bruschetta Crostini, which means little pieces of toast.
It is first coated with a bit of olive oil to enhance the flavor and then topped with the bruschetta mixture. Trust me when I say that one won’t be enough, you’ll be coming back for more!

- Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
- Let the tomato mixture rest for a minute before serving.
- Toast the bread until crisp so that it doesn’t get soggy.
- Assemble just before serving.
- If you want to serve with crackers or veggies, sub those out for the bread or do a variety with all the serving options.
- The tomato mixture can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge until ready to serve.
How do you store leftover Bruschetta Crostini?
The bread is going to be best used immediately; however, the bruschetta can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. It is most flavorful, though, within the first 24 hours.
Bruschetta Crostini is easily a crowd-pleaser at every party or gathering with the fresh ingredients served atop a crispy, flavor-filled baguette.

I don’t like to serve the cold veggies on top of the baked bread, l follow the recipe but place the veggies with a thin slice of mozzarella back in oven and broil for a few minutes. I also make sure not to toast the bread slices too much, since my second step takes care of that.

The pictures shown for your bruschetta recipe show 4 ingredients, 2 chopped green veggies. Your list of ingredients for the same recipe only asks for 1 green veggie…Italian parsley. What is the other one?
