Make the best Gluten-Free Air Fried Chicken with only TWO Ingredients!
If you are gluten-free then you probably miss fried chicken, right? I know that I sure did. In full disclosure, I do write menu plans each month for Better Batter; however, this is not a sponsored post.
What is Better Batter?
For years now, I get a monthly delivery for products from Better Batter because we use them ALL the time. I’ll tell you that when I first went gluten-free, Better Batter was a life saver.
Because all of their products are interchangeable as a 1:1 switch. What does this mean? It means that my favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies that were filled with gluten, could be made the exact same way but with Better Batter Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour and they taste exactly the same.
I’m not kidding either…they taste the same. My friends that can eat gluten-filled foods, rave about them too.
Better Batter Gluten-Free Seasoned Flour
That leads me to this particular flour that I used for this 2-Ingredient Gluten-Free Air Fried Chicken, Better Batter Gluten-Free Seasoned Flour.
Honestly, I haven’t used this flour much in the past, and then one day I had a box of it and thought I’d try it for air fryer chicken. I was so blown away by the taste and texture, it was like tasting fried chicken for the first time all over again.
There is a restaurant in town that sells chicken chunks. Many years ago, I used to eat those. Once I went gluten-free, I never touched them again. As soon as I bit into this chicken it tasted EXACTLY like those chicken chunks.
It was heavenly…I’m not gonna lie.
What do you need for 2-Ingredient Gluten-Free Air Fried Chicken
- Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs
- Better Batter Gluten-Free Seasoned Flour
Tips for Making Gluten-Free Air Fried Chicken
It’s best to use chicken thighs. Of course, you can use chicken breast but the time may need to be adjusted some. I find that chicken breast tends to dry out quickly due to them being less fatty than chicken thighs.
We feel like the chicken thighs really have the best taste overall.
If you do not have the Better Batter Gluten-Free Seasoned Flour, you can adapt this Oven Fried Chicken recipe to make the flour mixture; however, the Better Batter Gluten-Free Seasoned Flour does have more prominent flavors due to the spices in it.
I feel like it has more pepper than the recipe for Oven Fried Chicken, but it’s easily adaptable to make the taste that you prefer. If you do decide to do your own flour mixture, you would want to use all-purpose flour and then add in your spices plus salt and pepper.
Now, are you ready for the BEST chicken that you’ll ever taste?

More Air Fryer Chicken Recipes
- 4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs
- 1 Cup Better Batter Gluten-Free Seasoned Flour
- Dip each chicken thigh into the flour and coat well. (Note - I state 1 cup, start with 1 cup and add more as needed so you don't waste the flour.)
- Spray the basket of an air fryer with non-stick cooking spray or olive oil spray.
- Place chicken in the basket.
- Cook for 10 minutes at 390 degrees.
- Turn the chicken and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees.
Remember that all air fryers heat differently, so be sure the internal temperature is reached before serving.
I also mention 1 cup of flour for the chicken thighs, you may need a little bit more depending on how large the chicken thighs are. I recommend starting with 1 cup and then adding more if needed, so you don't waste any of that flour.
