Make dinner delicious and fun for the family with these Zesty Steak Street Tacos!
I’ve found that tacos seem to be one of those meals I can feed the kids without complaining. They love them and so do my husband and I. This past week, I decided to whip up these Zesty Steak Street Tacos.
When we do taco nights, I typically lay out all the toppings and then everyone can build the taco they want. That makes it easy on me when I have a child that gags himself over lettuce and one that could eat a whole head of lettuce by herself. It just works out better that way!
Now for these tacos, I used warm corn tortillas then I used thinly cut steak that is great for fajitas or tacos. Once I had the steak cooked, I added in the taco seasoning as instructed on the package. At this point, be sure not to overcook the steak or it will be more tough than tender. Trust me…I know this! It’s best to cook it until it’s about medium well, then add in the taco seasoning and continue cooking until your desired doneness.
Once we had our meat ready it was time to top the tacos. We added corn, cilantro, lettuce, and queso fresco. If you aren’t familiar with Queso Fresco, it’s a Mexican fresh cheese. It crumbles and makes for a great topping for street tacos.
These were perfect to eat in the backyard on a fall day. It’s one of those meals that’s fun to eat outside. We’ve been doing that a lot lately so this was a great addition. Of course, it also helps that these really only take about 10-20 minutes to put together. The longest time being the cooking of the meat. A little tip is to cook your meat in bulk and freeze portions of it for later, that way you can just heat and serve.
Now it’s time for dinner!
Enjoy!
