What type of sausage should you use for Baked Italian Sausage?

This recipe uses Italian Sausage. It can be mild, sweet, or spicy. We prefer sweet sausage, but this can be customized to suit your taste or preference.
Tips for Making Sheet Pan Baked Italian Sausage:

- Low-Calorie Alternatives – If you need to make this low-calorie use chicken sausage or turkey sausage along with olive oil spray. This will significantly reduce the calories.
- Meal Prep – This meal works beautifully for meal prep, it can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

- Spice it Up – If you prefer this meal to be spicy use spicy sausage or add in red pepper flakes when seasoning the vegetables.
- Different Vegetables – The vegetables can be mixed up and subbed out, use cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, or your favorite vegetables.
How do you store leftover Baked Italian Sausage?
Once cooled, the leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. When ready to reheat place the sausage and vegetables in the air fryer at 300 degrees F for 3-4 minutes or warm on a microwave-safe plate for about 1 minute or until heated through.

Sheet Pan Baked Italian Sausage
Ingredients
- 1 Medium Sweet Onion, Sliced
- 2 Bell Peppers, Sliced (Any Color)
- 1 1/2 Pounds Potatoes, Diced (About 3 1/2-4 Cups)
- 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 8 Italian Sausages (Sweet, Mild, or Spicy)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Add the onions, bell peppers, and diced potatoes to a baking sheet. Our potatoes are not peeled.
- Pour the olive oil evenly over the vegetables and use tongs or a spatula to mix well until coated. If you want a low-calorie alternative, use olive oil spray.
- Sprinkle the Italian Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Black Pepper evenly over the vegetables.
- Mix well until all vegetables are coated with the seasonings.
- Spread the vegetables evenly on the baking sheet.
- Add sausages on top of vegetables.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes, flip the sausage and vegetables about halfway through the cooking time.
- Carefully remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes.
- Serve.
