A classic stew made right in the Ninja Foodi with this Ninja Foodi Beef Stew that can also be easily made gluten-free too!
This Ninja Foodi Beef Stew was PERFECT…really one of my favorite recipes that I’ve had in quite a while. It is wonderful paired with your favorite gluten-free cornbread too.
If you prefer to use your Ninja Foodi for the cornbread, check out this recipe for Quick and Easy Jiffy Cornbread in the Ninja Foodi.
This stew will use both the saute function and pressure cooker function of the Ninja Foodi. That means you will need the Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker to make this, it can also be done in the Instant Pot too with the same method.
Tips for Making Ninja Foodi Beef Stew:
The first thing you will want to do is use beef stew meat and saute it and brown it before pressure cooking. It’s also important to do a natural release first before fully releasing the pressure.
If you are new to pressure cooking, the natural release means that you do nothing, just let it sit for 5 minutes before releasing the rest of the pressure.
Also, remember to use the Worcestershire Sauce, this gives it a nice flavor, if you skip this ingredient or the Bouillon Cube it isn’t going to have the same flavor.
The leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated to serve later as well.
How do you make Gluten-Free Beef Stew?
This stew is naturally gluten-free as it’s thickened with cornstarch. As always, you do want to check all the ingredients you use to be sure they are gluten-free and not cross-contaminated with wheat ingredients.
Can this Ninja Foodi Beef Stew be made in the slow cooker?
This particular recipe uses the pressure cooker function to cook this stew in 30 minutes; however, it can be made using the slow cooker function or in a slow cooker, cooked on low for 8 hours. I’d still suggest browning the meat first, then move on to cooking in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours.
We typically stick to the pressure cooker function, which works well and does not take much time. This recipe takes about an hour from start to finish including the building of the pressure.
Enjoy this Ninja Foodi Beef Stew and as always, be sure to check out this complete list of Ninja Foodi Recipes.

Omg Kristy i love all your recipes!!! We made this beef stew for supper and it was perfect!!! It was falling apart just like cooking it all day! Im in love with my foodi! Thanks for all these amazing recipes!!!
Yay! That makes my day. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed it.
When making stew chicken pot pie do we have to add water for pressure cooking.
You’d need some type of liquid in it either broth or water.
what do you do to saute food
The Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker has a ‘sear/saute’ function, you’d use that to sear the meat.
This turned out great. I added Rosemary and left out the paprika because I didn’t want the stew to be spicy. Everyone really liked it and it was easy! Thanks for the recipe.
I made this last night for dinner ad it was sooo good! My husband loved it too! So flavorful and the meat was so tender!
So happy to hear that, we love this one too!
Made your stew tonight for dinner. It was super delicious! Just got my Ninja Foodie for Xmas, so I am a newbie when it comes to Pressure Cooking but honestly, to have Beef Stew so tender and the veggies cooked to perfection in only 30 minutes, I’m hooked!
I have an old family recipe for beef stew that’s cooked on the stovetop. I’d like to adapt it for use in my new Ninja Foodi. My recipe calls for 1 can of tomatoes, and no beef broth. Would the juice from the can of tomatoes be enough liquid for cooking in the pressure cooking mode? If not, how much beef broth would be needed to have the required amount of liquid?
I would use the same amount that is mentioned here so measure out the liquid in the tomatoes, then add it to get up to the same amount of liquid in this recipe. So if it’s like 1 cup of liquid in the tomatoes, add 2 cups beef broth.
Your beef stew was absolutely delicious! I’ll be using this recipe from now on.
It’s in the Ninja right now. Kinda excited since I don’t recall ever making stew but my mom asked me to make it.
The only change I made was that I sauted the veggies before adding.
Omg, made this for dinner tonight and it was so delicious, the meat was so tender. I coated the beef in flour before sautéing. The veggies were a little soft so next time I’ll cut those a little bigger. I didn’t dice the onion, I just quartered a half onion but next time I’ll probably quarter a whole onion. I also added 1 cup of peas before adding the cornstarch. I didn’t have any beef bullion to add so I’ll add that next time. But it tasted great even without it. Perfect for this cold snowy day today. Thank you so much. Loved how it was done from start to finish in about 90 minutes including preparing all the veggies.
So happy you enjoyed it!!
Can I use flour at the beginning when sautéing the meat and onions
I haven’t used it before, but you could always try it.
Oh my heavens. This was so good. Love my ninja foodie.
I hope to see lots of ninja goofing recipes.
I made this and it was delicious! I will never make stew on the stovetop again- the Foodi really cuts the cooking time and is so easy! This recipe is a keeper and I will make it again!
I usually make beef stew in my slow cooker. Never again! Made this last night and it was by far the best stew I’ve ever made. The meat was so tender and the gravy was delicious!
Can you make this recipe if my air fryer does not have the pressure cook function?
This recipe will need a Pressure Cooker, it’s made using the Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker.
How do I reheat beef bourguignon in my Ninja?
I would probably do slow cook for on low for a few hours.
I’ve tried a lot of beef stews in the slow cooker and pressure cooker and this was the best so far. I also exchanged the paprika for thyme, dredged the meat in flour first and since I didn’t have a beef bouillon, used a vege one instead. I also used gold potatoes since I had those on hand. It was all prep and then just cooked in the ninja to perfection. Thank you for an awesome recipe!
I will have to either add gluten free measure to measure flour or corn starch to this recipe instead of the flour. I have a gluten allergy. But other than that this recipe sounds amazing. My daughter gave me a foodie for Christmas and I am using it way more than my oven and stove top.
Thank you for this lovely recipe. Please could you let me know how long it keeps for in the fridge and how to reheat it. Thank you.
