Plan the perfect taco night with these tips on how to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at home!
This post is sponsored by Old El Paso Cheese; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Cinco de Mayo may look a bit different this year for most of us; however, you can still plan a wonderful party right at home with your immediate family members that live with you.
This actually ends up being a great little party to look forward to for your kids and family, plus it’s made even better with all the tasty food you can serve topped with Old El Paso Shredded Cheese.
As we planned our night indoors, I wanted to focus on items that you can print right off your computer, which means you can do these from home and add your Old El Paso shredded cheese to your online grocery orders.
Plan the Cinco de Mayo Menu:
Of course, the first thing to be considered is the menu. What should you serve? Think about all your favorite Mexican foods that you can recreate at home. Our menu consisted of many of these foods.
- Air Fryer Tacos topped with Old El Paso Shredded 3 Pepper Cheese
- Air Fryer Churros
- Chips and Salsa
- Mexican Corn
- Guacamole
- Chicken Enchiladas
- Beef and Bean Burritos
- Queso
- Quesadillas with Old El Paso Shredded Quesadilla Cheese
- …and your favorites!
It’s easy to get creative and make these delicious foods right at home.
We decided to top ours with Old El Paso Shredded 3 Pepper Cheese and it’s full of SPICY flavor! I was surprised by just how spicy it was and the addition it made to our tacos.
The 3 Pepper Cheese is a blend of Cheddar Cheese with Chipotle Peppers, Monterey Jack Cheese with Habanero Peppers and Monterey Jack Cheese with Jalapeño Peppers. It truly adds a ton of heat to your recipe, for those that like the heat…this is the best cheese for that.
We were easily able to add Old El Paso Shredded Cheese to our grocery order, which was the best part of our menu with all that extra spicy flavor.
We also enjoy using the Old El Paso Shredded Quesadilla Cheese to make quesadillas too. It’s the perfect cheese for melting and quesadillas are a great option for lunches too.
What about Cinco de Mayo Decorations?
Now, since you might have to be at home for Cinco de Mayo, focus on decorations that you can print or make right at home. This is actually a great art project for the kids as you homeschool them, even learning about Cinco de Mayo itself is a great addition to schooling too.
My kids absolutely LOVED the printables for our DIY Photo Booth, these printables are easy to print off and use at home.
Next, how should you decorate your table? These printables add flare to your table and you can print these off at home too.
One thing I also love is the food labels, these food labels are fun to add to the table too.
Great art and craft activity is to make these tissue paper flowers to add to your table.
Plus on top of all these fun, exciting things to add to your Cinco de Mayo Party at Home, you can also use these printable activities for the kids too.
This entire experience can be done right at home, plus it’s such a fun family activity that really gives everyone something to be excited about and involved in.
Plus, you can easily show off your Cheesy Family, because ultimately we want to know if you are America’s Cheesiest Family. Are you a contender? I’d say my family sure is!
