Now, this is a break from my normal post, but I was so intrigued by this product, I had to share! I have mentioned in the past, I have horrible allergies! Bad…eyes itching, no make up left on, tissue stuffed in my nose permanently throughout the spring…allergies.
I grew up getting allergies shots for the better part of 15 years until I got married and decided I was done with those. Now, I do as much as I can to prevent allergy attacks.
One thing I have never done is to change out the air filter in my vehicle. I’ll admit, I didn’t even know that the air vents in the vehicle had filters! I know that cars have air filters but didn’t realize they have cabin air filters.
I decided to try out the FRAM Fresh Breeze Air Filters made with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. These easy products are available at Walmart and you can quickly change them out in your vehicle. Be sure to first determine if you vehicle has a cabin air filter that can be changed. We checked and thought that our 2006 Dodge Caravan would work to have an air filter changed, then once we went to change it we realized that the air filter does not come out of our Caravan. I was pretty sad since that is the main vehicle I drive; however, we decided to change the filter in my husband’s 2001 Chevy Silverado.
Now, we have had this vehicle about 7 years and in that time…we have NEVER changed out the air filter! We were in for a surprise.
The first thing you do is remove the old filter, which on the instructions it says to put a towel underneath it to catch the debris. We did not do this, but we quickly found out why!
Check out this old vs new filter…we have been breathing in all that garbage for years! We were shocked to say the least. In just a few minutes, we easily swapped out the filters and now are breathing clean air.
Did you know that if your air filter isn’t changed, you could be breathing worse air in your car than being outside?

I was shocked to see what my cabin air filter looked like when I replaced it with a FRAM Fresh Breeze filter (my service technicians change it “regularly” but it didn’t appear that way)! This is a fantastic product and I hope others try it so they can also experience the quality air inside their car.
Where would the air filter be lcoated at i nan Altima?? Maybe i should ask my husband..
We had to look up you tube videos to find it but when you look up the website for this brand, it should show you there too. They have videos on how to install. Ours was located underneath the dash on the passenger side.
They are super gross and people suggest you change at least once a year or twice if you have bad allergies. It seems like one of those things that service technicians tell you that they are doing on your car and never do because they don’t think that you will check 🙂 I will have to check to see if it is something that you can do in my car!! Thanks!!
I can def see why it would be an allergy issue! Yuck!
