Make a flavorful Apple Pie Spice with simple pantry ingredients!
Apple Pie Spice is easy to make with just FOUR ingredients, plus it’s a must for the fall season.
We like to make a batch as we head into fall to use in a variety of recipes such as Apple Pie, Apple Cider, and more! I’ll be sharing with you some delicious Apple Cider Donuts in a few weeks that this is perfect for as well.
What do you use Apple Pie Spice for?
This is a great addition to any apple-based recipe, think of it similarly to pumpkin pie spice. Just as you add pumpkin spice to many pumpkin-based recipes, you can add apple spice to the apple-based recipes.
One of our favorites to add this into is this Apple Crisp, you can use apple pie spice right along with the cinnamon or in place of it too.
What do you need for Apple Pie Spice?
All you need is four ingredients to make this, and most of you will find these right in the spice rack.
- Ground Cinnamon
- Ground Nutmeg
- AllSpice
- Ground Ginger
Tips for Making Apple Pie Spice:
This particular recipe will make you about 5 tablespoons, if you are baking or using it more than I’d suggest just doubling the recipe. It can be stored in an air-tight container…forever.
It’s pretty unusual for spices to go bad, so you will likely be able to store this for a significant period of time.
It would be similar to the amount of time you keep your spices. A good indicator of if spices have gone bad is the smell, you will not smell the flavorful cinnamon and ginger smell if it has gone bad.
I’d say you could easily keep this through 1-2 seasons if stored in an airtight container to preserve the taste and smell.
Now it’s time to enjoy this tasty recipe!
