Get ready for a tasty dinner using the air fryer tonight with these Air Fryer Glazed Chicken Thighs!
Air Fryer Glazed Chicken Thighs are a great easy dinner to make in your Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi.
What should you pair with Air Fryer Chicken Thighs?
I basically adapted my recipe for Glazed Chicken Thighs to create these Air Fryer Chicken Thighs, simply by adjusting the cooking method. They turned out wonderfully and did not disappoint!
We ended up pairing them with Air Fryer Fried Squash. This made for a quick and easy meal.
How do you make Air Fryer Glazed Chicken Thighs?
I suggest putting the chicken in a bag with the marinade in the morning, it seems like it just has such a great flavor when it sits all day. Once you are ready for dinner, it’s simple to just toss it in the air fryer and let it cook.
I am now using a Ninja Foodi Air Fryer; however, you can check out a variety of different air fryers in my post on, How to Choose the Right Air Fryer.
Can you make Ninja Foodi Chicken Thighs?
This recipe can easily be made in the Ninja Foodi with the same instructions; however, use the Air Crisp Function of the Ninja Foodi.
We actually make these regularly now in the Ninja Foodi along with this Air Fried Chicken.

I just made this. It was really fantastic, great blend of flavors. Thanks for this, definitely a keeper!
So glad to hear you enjoyed it!
What would you need to modify to use bone in thighs?
Usually it’s going to be pretty close to the same; however, you may need to leave them in for an additional few minutes. I’d follow the recipe as written and then add extra time if needed to reach the internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Am I supposed to use the wrack or the basket?
I use the basket for this one.
Soooo delicious!!!! You have helped me so many times in figuring out what to make in my Foodi!!!
Yay!! I’m so glad that the recipes have helped and you’ve enjoyed them. 🙂
Will this work for skinless thighs too? (I just assumed yours were not skinless.)
Yes, boneless, skinless work well for this.
I am trying this recipe now and my husband and i cant wait to see them come out deliciously.
Just bought my Foodi. Would I cook the same for turkey thigh?
I haven’t tried it with a turkey thigh, but I would assume it would be the same. Be sure to check in on it about 1/2 way through just to be sure it’s cooking up nicely and does not overcook in case there is an adjustment needed for the turkey thigh, but I believe it would be exactly the same.
Is it possible to do the chicken and squash at the same time? I would love to try it if so!
If you are using a Ninja Foodi, you could put the rack in and put the chicken on top and the squash in the bottom.
I just made this. It was really good. However, I marinated mine all night, Instead of 2-3 hrs. Also, I suggest pressure cooking chicken ( following my ninja foodi instruction book that comes with it when you buy it for chicken) then air frying as this recipe directs you to crisp it up. I served mine with fried okra and steamed Broccoli. Thank you amazing flavors! Definitely making this recipe again!!!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Just out of curiosity did you use frozen chicken? I don’t usually pressure cook mine unless it’s frozen before air frying, so I was curious if yours was.
Would cooking time and process differ if I use skin-on, bone-in thighs?
The cook time may vary, I’ve never done them with bone-in and skin-on. The skin will have the flavor, so the glaze should still work but the skin will get the flavor instead of seeping into the chicken thighs. I’d check on it about halfway through the cooking time and then add additional time if needed.
When air frying these chicken thighs in the Foodi and using the basket, should you put some water in the bottom under the basket when air frying. THANK YOU
It’s not necessary when using the air crisp function.
Did you make all 8 in the basket at once or 4 then 4 so they don’t overlap? Or could you use the rack to do two layers of 4 at once?
I usually work mine around to fit and when they don’t I do them in batches, but I actually do think the rack would work to do 2 layers.
Delicious! I preheated my Foodi for 5 minutes. I cooked six thighs and they took 20 minutes. They tasted like chicken satay, yummy. Moist and juicy.
We rec’d the Ninja Foodi for Christmas. Ours is rectangle, not round. Do we put the thighs in the basket at top? I’m a little confused at how long to cook? Can we cook tater tots in the rack below. Thank you!!
I’m assuming maybe you have the digital oven? I would most likely do the thighs on the bottom and the fries on top. Really you can do it either way as long as the chicken isn’t dripping down onto the fries, that’s the only thing I’d be sure of before putting the chicken on top.
IT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO KNOW IF THE THIGHS SHOULD BE FLAT OR ROLLED. AND YOU DON’T MENTION IF YOU SHOULD ROAST OR FRY. I HAVE THE NINJA FOODIE WITH THE FLAT CRISPER PLATE. I HAVEN’T USED IT YET BECAUSE I’M AFRAID I’LL BURN THE FOOD.
I made these flat, not rolled.
