Enjoy a garden fresh salad this season and learn how to make Homemade Italian Dressing to top it with too!
Last week, I shared this fabulous Homemade Ranch Dressing, this week we will be talking all about this classic Homemade Italian Dressing.
This is actually one of my favorites to top salads with or you can even make a great pasta salad with Italian Dressing too. Once gardening season really picks up, I love to make a fresh salad with homemade dressing.
Try it sometime, you’ll feel like you’ve really accomplished something with all that homemade goodness, sounds crazy for sure but it’s true. Plus, just about any dressing can be made with ingredients right in your fridge and pantry.
How do you make Italian Dressing from scratch?
Italian Dressing is made using pantry ingredients, such as this Homemade Italian Seasoning.
- Olive Oil
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Italian Seasoning
- Red Pepper Flakes, Optional
- Fresh Parmesan Cheese, Finely Grated
- Salt and Pepper
Simply combine these ingredients to make this delicious dressing. The trickiest part is simply combining the oil and vinegar, that’s the base for this dressing and the seasonings are what gives it the true flavor and zest that you are looking for in this dressing.
Can you store Homemade Italian Dressing?
Homemade Italian Dressing can be stored in an airtight jar or container in the fridge. I would typically suggest not keeping it over about a month in the fridge.
It may also need to be mixed up again before serving or shaken due to the separation of the oil and vinegar.
This Salad Dressing Mixer is a great option for storing salad dressings. It makes mixing it up easy to do anytime before serving.
This dressing is naturally gluten-free as well and a great option with ingredients you have actually heard of.
