Seattle's BestHappy Monday Morning!  What better way to start the week than to focus on Taking Back Your Mornings!?  A typical morning for me, includes an early morning nursing session with my daughter.  Gotta love those nightly feedings, right?  Then, if I’m lucky I get back to sleep for about an hour or two before my son comes running into my room.

At this point, I try to make him sleep or lay down until 7am even if it’s in our bed.  Then, at that point if we aren’t going anywhere I’ll turn on a morning show for him so I can catch a little extra sleep.  That is if I can avoid him poking me in the face for an hour asking me if he can check to see if it’s light out.  Kids!

Then, once I’m up it’s a rush to get the kids ready to go and get out the door to get my son to school or wherever it is we are going that day.

The one I thing I make sure to do each morning is at least get my 5-10 minutes in, even if it’s that short…for ME time!  I have to get in a little bit of me time otherwise I’m not a nice person during the day!

I have been like this since I was a kid!  I was always one to get up before everyone in my house, I won’t lie…I got up 2 hours earlier than needed just to watch Good Morning America and enjoy my coffee or breakfast then before starting my day.

Now, I’m thankful for my short time in the mornings.  It starts with coffee, a good book, and sometimes a homemade biscotti!

I decided to try out Seattle’s Best Coffee; however, I already knew I was in love with it!  I fell in love with their coffee many years ago.  I decided to pick up a level 2 blend as well as the organic fair trade.  Now, my husband and I are all set for at least a month or so of delicious coffee!

I also am loving my coffee with cinnamon, thanks to a tip I heard on Dr. Oz.  He had a dietician on that said to add a teaspoon of cinnamon to your morning breakfast or coffee and it will stabilize your blood sugar throughout the day.  It really works!

So, how do you plan to Take Back Your Mornings?
