Slow Cooker Chicken Sloppy Joes are a go-to meal any night of the week!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Manwich for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
We are back into the swing of things around here after a recovering from both the holidays then sickness that soon followed. It was not fun at all! I sometimes wish I could just hibernate with my family all through winter to avoid all that sickness that seems to creep in around that time.
The tables turned for us this year, typically it’s my husband and I catching something from our kids. This time, I was the first one to get the bug and give it to the rest of the family. Let’s just say we were on a disinfectant spree!
After recovering, I knew that we all needed something easy for dinner which is where these wonderful sloppy joes came in handy! I decided to use a can of the Bold Manwich, then I added some sliced green peppers and white onion too just to give it even more flavor. I topped all of this over a few chicken breast in the slow cooker much like you would with BBQ chicken.
Once I had it all in the slow cooker, it simply cooked all day then I shredded it up and let it cook for about another hour to soak in more of the juice. Once the chicken was done, it made for a great sandwich or even stuffed into potatoes.
I prefer potatoes but my husband and kids love a sandwich. I even had it over tortilla chips as nacho meat the following day. I absolutely love this dish because it’s so versatile. We had enough to last us a few days and used it in a variety of ways. That means it’s not as likely to get tiring when you are round 2 or 3 of leftovers.
Manwich is a great go-to item for us on busy nights especially as we get back into the swing of school again. It always seems like Mondays are the craziest day for us which makes this great for a Manwich Mondays dinner night!
Plus, it’s also cold out and I’d much rather snuggle by the fire than be stuck in the kitchen, that’s where the slow cooker comes in handy.
