Are you in game day mode? House is full of football crazed fans, good food, and lots of yelling?! That must mean we are full swing into football mode, right?
When I think of football season, I think of tailgating and lots of amazing food! It’s almost like Thanksgiving, I need me stretchy pants. I may not know who is playing but I will have a ton of good food served including these Ooey-Gooey Milky Way Cookies!
Did you know adding candy to cookies makes them even more delicious than they already are? What about caramel candy? One word…Yum!
This past week, I picked up a bag of the Milky Way Bites at Walmart. Now, why do I love these? Because I can toss them into the food processor and chop them up for cookies without having to cut them apart first. When you use the full size or even the minis they have to be cut first before being chopped up. All I did with these bites is open the bag and toss them all in the processor! So easy! (Note: If you are gluten free, use a gluten free candy of your choice.)
I quickly chopped them up just to make them a little bit smaller before I combined them with my cookie batter. I used about 2 cups in the batter and it made some of the most delicious cookies. They were gooey, chewy, and soft! I also used gluten free all purpose flour to make them gluten free as well!
Once my batter was done, I dropped them into tablespoon size balls on a greased cookie sheet then baked them in the oven. When making cookies, timing is everything! These need to come out right at 10 minutes, then they finish browning on the counter as they cool down as well.
The result is nothing short of amazing! These made about 2-3 dozen depending on the size of spoonfuls that you use. I’m still enjoying some as I write this! They would compliment all those BBQ Wings and chips at a tailgate party with a sweet easy treat!
I love that the caramel seeps out of these giving it a burst of caramel flavor and the gooey factor!
Now, stop on by and enjoy some football and a cookie…on me!
Or not…they may be gone now!

Yum! Looks very good! Thanks for sharing!
Yummy cookies!!!
Oooey gooey…. ummm, that’s got me SOLD. Amazing cookies!
I tried these this AM, but unfortunately the dough ran all over the pan and oven. I’m wondering if something was left out of the recipe?
Before you baked them was your dough stuff like cookie dough? The recipe is correct it’s an adaption of Nestle recipe. Also when you put them on the pan did you make them tbsp size? Most cookies will spread a bit so the size of the dough balls is important too.
You are so right about taking cookies out at the right time. It took many batches during my early baking days to figure that out. These look delicious! #client
This looks like a fun recipe, but I wouldn’t try it with GF flour if you have Celiac Disease or another sensitivity, as Milky Ways are NOT gluten free. Looks great if you don’t have dietary restrictions though!
These is what I looked at; however, I did just notice that it says the originals aren’t and the Milky Way Caramels are…thanks for pointing that out, I didn’t realize that! http://celiacdisease.about.com/od/glutenfreefoodshopping/a/GFcandies.htm
I did read the label on the ones I used and they did not have gluten in them, but I would def advise reading any/all labels first.
