Just in time for camping season, these Easy Campfire Beans are the perfect choice for your next outdoor camping adventure.
Have you experienced a Backyard Camping Adventure? Or maybe you are just looking for some delicious campfire recipes. These beans happen to be one of my all time favorites. I’m honestly not sure if I can eat them any other way now and really they were just so easy and good!
What is the secret sauce in these Campfire Beans?
We tried this Head Country Apple Habanero Sauce in ours and it was just perfect. Of course, you can use any sauce you prefer; however, I really think this is the key that took these beans to a whole new level.
It gives an apple taste with just a hint of that habanero. I was a little nervous they would be too spicy, but they actually weren’t at all. It was just the right mix and gives it a nice kick without setting your mouth on fire.
Tips for making Campfire Beans?
It’s best to use Pinto Beans for these, we use 2 Cans of Pinto Beans. It can be made with soaked beans as well; however, typically I just pick up canned beans. This normally serves about 6-8 people as a side item.
I would suggest using a dutch oven or cast iron skillet with a lid or foil to cover it and keep the heat contained. If you are doing this over a campfire, we actually love to use this Campfire Grill.
It folds up and goes right over the campfire, we actually were able to fit nearly our entire dinner on the Extra-Large size.
