It’s time to plan your adventure this summer in Ocala Marion County, Florida. It’s time for some Florida Travel.
Are you ready for summer vacation? I have to say we are counting down the days! It’s getting closer and closer but the hardest part of planning the vacation is just deciding where to go. One place we visit often is Florida. It’s not too far of a drive from our area and it’s also fun to go through several states and enjoy the scenery on the way.
One of the best places to visit in Florida is Ocala Marion County, it’s perfect for those that love the outdoors. They offer all sorts of places to stay even camping and cabins plus hotels and vacation rentals too. We prefer a vacation rental these days, it’s just so much easier when traveling with the family to make our own meals and have a true home away from home. I also love that in Ocala Marion County it has that country feel, you get the wonderful amenities of the waterfront but also the country feel of a small town too.
My family would be basically sitting in front of the water or on it, 99% of the time. We spend the majority of our summer on or in the water, so it’s only natural that’s where we would end up. They offer all sorts of water sports too like water skiing, jet skiing, and kayaks. I drove the jet ski last year and it was a blast, I think I may have to get more used to driving it. I’m usually riding on behind my husband but it’s such a different view when you are actually driving it yourself.
Not only are they full of outdoor activities but also lots of great places to eat and you know, I’m all about the food! It’s fresh and delicious, plus you can find a lot of places that are local. I always love to try out local places when we go on vacation, not the places I can get anywhere!
Now, what you may really love is the equestrian side of Ocala Marion County. It was actually dubbed the Horse Capital of the World and they host a variety of competitions, plus so many places to ride horses as well. It’s a great place to visit especially if there is a horse lover in your family.
If you are heading there this May though be sure to check out their Memorial Day Celebration plus the horse farms tour as well, those are two events you will not want to miss!

I am so looking forward to summer and traveling! I have never been to this location, but it looks like somewhere that I would enjoy visiting. The Memorial Day celebration looks like a good event.
THis really does look nice a nice area to check out and the memorial day event looks like a great time to check it out. Nice write up.
I haven’t been there but it looks so good! We usually go to Florida once a year in the winter, to escape New England winter for awhile. Well our spring isn’t so good either. I’m dreaming about going there right now!

I never had plans to visit this area of Ocala Marion County. Yet, my daughter loves horses. She’d enjoy seeing the Horse Capital of the World, as well as the competitions being held.
I’m so excited for summer road trip season and I love exploring new places. While this is a little far from me I’m still adding it to my list of places to explore when I’m in Florida!

I have fond memories of taking road trips with my parents to Florida…and I don’t know how we did it without any technology! lol! This looks like a great place to make memories for the kids.
