This year has been a year of adjustments especially with my morning routine. Last year, right after I dropped my son off at school, I headed right to the gym with my daughter and worked out before her preschool started. This year, she goes to school right after I drop him off and it’s really causing a shift in my normal routine. Of course, just when I start to feel like we are getting in the groove again something changes, like a sick child and then the routine is off yet again.
There is one thing though that I never go without and that’s my morning coffee. Many times, I typically am drinking my coffee while heading to school with my son and that is my time to enjoy my coffee, talk to the kids a bit, and listen to the radio. It’s the time I really start to wake up a bit. Then, after I take my daughter to school, it’s off to the gym and finally home to get to work.
If there is one thing I have found over the years it’s that a morning routine is a must, just to help your own self adjust for the day.
The first thing I do in the morning is start my coffee with Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cups®. What would we do without K-Cups? I love that I can conveniently get a cup of coffee just for me when I wake up. - Consistency – Many times it’s good to be consistent, help your body adjust and get in a flow.
- Start with Quiet Time – This could take many forms for different people, meditating, reading, or just sitting outside. It’s nice to get a little quiet before a full day starts.
- Enjoy a Warm Cup of Coffee – Start with a warm drink in the morning to wake you up.
- Always Eat Breakfast – Always eat breakfast even if it’s fruit or a small breakfast, our bodies need fuel for the day.
- Listen to Music – It’s a great idea to listen to some up beat music in the mornings to get your day starting right.
