I am a very new DSLR user and very new into photography. I found this link recently on Pinterest, A Very Beginner’s Guide to Manual Mode. Shooting in Manual is said to be a great way to capture those Christmas morning pictures when the sun may not have risen yet in your house or you are inside around the tree with low light.
I watched the tutorial and attempted to shoot in manual, but it did not work out so well for me. It seems my living room is just the worst room for pictures with very little natural light and my low light is extremely low. So far, my best attempts have been in Auto mode with no flash in the living room. I hate shooting pictures in auto, my least favorite; however, sometimes you do what you have to do.
In saying all that I am bound and determined to figure out how to shoot in manual in low light before Christmas morning. I know this tutorial will help.
