Get ready to enjoy a great dinner with Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast, it can also be made in the Air Fryer too as Air Fryer Turkey Breast!
We all know the holidays are coming, but not all of us need enough turkey and ham to feed 20 people, right?
Growing up, my family always had a very small dinner, it was usually just our family of 4 plus my grandparents. That means we had 6 people and did not really need dinner for 15-20.
Let’s just face it and say that leftovers do get old after a while, even when they are from Thanksgiving dinner.
That’s what led me to test out this Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast. It’s the perfect size for a family of 4-6, with minimal leftovers and it’s absolutely delicious!
This is one of those Ninja Foodi Recipes that I’ll be making for many years to come!
What is the best turkey to buy for Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast?
This recipe is made with a boneless turkey breast. I was able to find a boneless turkey breast for $8 at Aldi. They even have great gluten-free turkey stuffing too!
We used a boneless, skin-on turkey breast, which is also so much easier to prepare and slice too!
Pair this turkey breast with this Homemade Cranberry Sauce!
The one I used for this was about 3 pounds. It also came with a turkey packet too; however, if you need gluten-free turkey gravy or prefer your own turkey, this gluten-free gravy was perfect. It can be made with regular flour too if gluten-free isn’t a need.
Can you make Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast in an Air Fryer?
This recipe is essentially Air Fryer Turkey Breast because you are only using the air crisp function of the Ninja Foodi. That means you can make this in any air fryer; however, you need to be sure the basket is large enough to fit the turkey breast you purchase.
I do suggest cutting the netting off the turkey breast before cooking so you don’t lose all the skin. Remember if you do cut the netting off you will have multiple chunks of meat sometimes depending on the turkey breast that you are using.
The cook times may vary as well depending on how much heat the machine you use puts off, that means it’s essential to have a great quick read thermometer. We like to shoot for an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Tips for making Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast:
The turkey itself has so much flavor and juice inside I didn’t find it necessary to coat it with much more than olive oil spray and a dash of rosemary.
The particular turkey breast I used had netting around it and I kept that on during the cooking process, yours may have this on it as well depending on the one you purchase.
Be sure to let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes after cooking, this allows the juices to fully soak into the turkey. It allows it to be juicer and easier to slice as well. I feel like it really gives it that melt in your mouth flavor and texture.
Now, it’s time to make this Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast for your next dinner!
Ninja Foodi Turkey Breast (Air Fryer)
Ingredients
- 3 Pound Boneless Turkey Breast Thawed

- Place the turkey breast in the basket of the Ninja Foodi or Air Fryer.
- Coat it with olive oil spray and rosemary.
- Cook at 350 using the air fryer or air crisp function degrees for 20 minutes.
- Carefully turn the turkey breast, coat it again with olive oil spray and a dash of rosemary if you prefer.
- Cook for an additional 30 minutes in the air fryer or air crisp function at 350 degrees.
- Be sure the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees.
- Let it sit in the Ninja Foodi or Air Fryer for 10-15 minutes after cooking to rest.
- Slice and serve.

Was the turkey breast thawed or frozen?
This was thawed out first.
I can’t wait to try this. I just recently got my Ninja Foodi and though it’s intimidating at first, I love cooking with it!
You’ll love it, just don’t give up if something doesn’t work out, try again. It does take a bit to get the hang of it. If you ever have questions just let me know. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving! Looking forward to doing this today. Our oven went kaput, so I had to pass on the free turkey (grocery store promo) for a breast instead (discounted bc of promo). This is the perfect size for our Foodi.
I can’t wait to do this recipe tonight. Love my ninja
I hope you enjoy it! I love mine too!
How would you modify this recipe for a boneless turkey tenderloin rather than boneless breast?
I haven’t done that one yet, but in general, the tenderloin usually cooks a lot faster than the breast and can overcook easily, so I would start by cutting the time down and checking in on it about 1/2 way through cooking time and see what temperature it is to see if it needs any additional time after that.
I fixed this a couple of weeks ago and my husband asked if we could have it again the next night. HE NEVER DIES THAT! Definitely a winner in my house. Thank you
So glad to hear that! This is one of my favorites too, I just added another turkey breast to my grocery list to do it again, lol!
Can’t wait to try
Does this work just the same for the ninja foodi grill?
Yes it should, you’d use the air crisp/air fryer function of the grill.
Was this a boneless or a bone-in? I bought a boneless and am wanting to ensure cook times are accurate. Thanks!
This one is boneless.
I have a 3 lb turkey roast I want to try this in . Would the time be the same for the roast or should I adjust it down ?
I believe it’s going to work the same way, I would check on it about 2/3 of the way into the cook time.
Can I roast vegetables in Foodi at same time as turkey breast.
Possibly, but I haven’t tried it at the same time as this particular recipe.
I tried this with a boneless turkey breast and cut off the netting, but the breast started falling apart.
I dont have olive oil what else can I use, canola oil ? I have butter spray ?
I typically use olive oil, coconut, or grapeseed. You may not need any, I use it just to give it a more browned top. If you have oil that you normally use with your air fryer, you can use that.
i have a jenni o turkey breast, will this also work in my ninja foodi? I’ve only roasted in the oven in its own bag.
If it’s the same size it should work the same.
Can I start with the turkey breast frozen?
I haven’t done it with frozen, so it may mean longer cook times, or you can pressure cook it first and then air crisp.
Can I air fry a turkey breast that has the ribs in it? If so, how long do you suggest cooking it?
I haven’t done one with ribs in, but I would start at about 2/3 of the cooking time listed in this recipe then check it at that point until it reaches the fully cooked internal temp.
Can you cook a stuffed Turkey breast in the Ninja Foodi?
I’m sure you can, I haven’t done one stuffed before, I’d start with this cook time and check on it to be sure the internal temp reaches the correct temperature to be well done.
I could eat turkey ever week so I pinned this to try out. It definitley looks delicious! Thanks for sharing. #HomeMattersParty
When you say “turn the breast and cook it another 30 min” do you mean flip over or just turn like readjust?
Yes, just adjust it so the other side is up.
I have a bone in breast I cut the meat up for a pot pie and had thrown parts that were cut too big into ninja foods Separate and tried this uhm so ya results to come soon hah
Just made this for lunch, sooooo good! Took off the net prior to cooking and you have to kinda have to hold it together placing it down into the basket, I put it in ‘messy’ side down so that open end cooked first and firmed it up, then it held together fine when I flipped it over. Mine took a little longer to come up to temp, maybe an hour total. Lots of turkey sandwiches, turkey salad all week long, yum!
Would you suggest bringing the boneless turkey
breast prior to air frying?
Brining-sorry
I don’t brine mine, but you def could too if you prefer.
I have a roasted garlic, lemon, rosemary butter. Would this butter be okay to use in this recipe or is the smoke point too low?
The smoke point of butter is usually around 300*F, so you could probably do it maybe a few minutes at the end but I haven’t tried it on this so I’m not entirely sure. It could be tested just watched carefully.
I have a Janio roasted turkey breast that is pre-cooked how long should I cook a precooked 3 pound turkey breast in the fryer
I would start with half the cook time on this recipe then check on it until it reaches the desired temp.
My turkey breast is closer to four pounds. How much time will I need to add? I can’t wait to try this out!
I would start with the listed time then add 5-10 minutes if needed to reach the correct internal temp.
Going to try this in my ninja 5 in 1 grill many recipes call for pre heating should I preheat to 350 before putting turkey in
I don’t normally preheat, but you can, you’d just cut about 3-5 minutes off the final cook time.
This recipe worked beautifully! The turkey breast was moist and delicious. Thank you so much for the detailed instructions.
I am new to my Ninja 14/1 and I made this one last night and it was amazing! It was perfect!
Hi…I need help. Could not find boneless turkey breast. I have a 6.5 lb bone-in. Will thaw out, but need air fry cooking instructions please. Thank you for your help if possible.
Bone-in should work just the same as the boneless, just check out on it throughout cooking time to be sure that it does not overcook, a meat thermometer works best for that.
My ninja foodi air crisp/pressure cooker came with a rack. Do I still need to flip the turkey?
As long as it’s cooking on all sides, you shouldn’t need to.
A trick with the netting is to pull it up a bit (away from the skin) so that it rests on top of the skin and is no longer embeded. You probably have to work it several inches at a time. It helps hold things together but the nice crispy skin doesn’t peel of at the end.
I’ll try that today when I make one.
What side of the turkey do you place up in the air fryer at the start of cooking. Skin side up or or bottom up? Thank you.
I would do skin side up.
I’ve made this before in a regular oven. Tried this in Ninja Foodi with netting off. I don’t recommend this. Ended up with chunks of turkey meat. Was still good, just unable to slice it. Next time with netting on, which is how I always did it in conventional oven.
I just added some notes to this regarding netting. Unfortunately when I first posted this recipe all the turkey breast that I got at the store stayed together even without the netting. I made one yesterday and cut the netting off and it came out in chunks as well which hadn’t happened before when I made these.
