About a month ago I went to a restaurant supply store and picked up these cute red baskets that you can line with tissue paper to serve dinner in. My initial thought was that they would be perfect for the summer months and having picnics. Then, the other night I was making Homemade Fish Sticks and thought I would give them a try to serve my son’s dinner in them. It worked! He is such a picky eater, but he loved eating his dinner from here.
He ate all of his fish and his chips! We used this Oven Baked Parmesan Fries recipe from Playing with Sugar to serve with the Homemade Fish Sticks.
If you are trying to save money by eating in but want the eating out touch, make some fish and chips serve them in little baskets and have a “fast food” night in!
My family enjoyed this meal and I already have many ideas on how to use these again. I am sure chicken fingers will be next!
What are your ideas for homemade “fast food” nights?

YUM on the french fries!! 🙂
I’ve got a bag of potatoes that need to be made into something or they’ll go bad. I know what I’m making tonight! 🙂
DO you know if making the fries and then freezing them is an option?? I’ve got a whole 5lb pag of potatoes I need to cut up.
I’m not sure as far as freezing goes, I did not do that with these. You could probably try it though I would think it would work the same as frozen fries would.
