Make delicious juicy chicken wings with these Grilled Dill Pickle Chicken Wings, great for the pellet grill!
Have you ever mixed pickle juice with chicken? I can tell you that when you marinate chicken in pickle juice you will end up with the most tender and juicy chicken, and it actually does not taste like a pickle!
Pickle juice makes the meat very tender due to the salt content and will keep your chicken tender with a slightly tangy flavor.
These Grilled Dill Pickle Chicken Wings will soon be your favorite!
If you want a smaller way to do these, check out these Air Fryer Dill Pickle Chicken Wings, use the same method but a smaller batch!
What temperature should chicken wings be at to be considered done?
Chicken Wings are considered done at 165*F; however, to get the most tender wings, let that temperature rise to 175*F before serving.
It’s best to have a meat thermometer on hand to check the internal temperature of the wings.
Tips for Making Grilled Dill Pickle Chicken Wings:
These wings can be made on a traditional grill or pellet grill.
If using the pellet grill, we like to use a blend of pellets. If you want to use one flavor of pellets, hickory works well for these. Remember any pellets used will impact the flavor of the meat.
When marinating the chicken, be sure to let it sit in the fridge for 2 hours, but the longer the better. I like to prepare it in the morning and let it sit all day until the evening then grill them.
Be sure to put the Ziploc bag inside a shallow dish or pan just in case it leaks during the marinating time.
Once you are ready to grill the wings, let them cook for at least 10 minutes, then turn and cook for another 10-15 minutes. The cook times are going to vary based on the amount of heat that your grill is putting out.
These wings are also coated in grapeseed oil, which has a higher smoke point than olive oil. I have used olive oil too though with no issues.
