It’s time for us to start some chores and allowance system, which makes cleaning on a dime with Dollar General the perfect option.
This past week, my husband and I have been in some discussions on starting chores and allowance with our son. Of course, he has been doing chores for a long time now, but we really never had an allowance system in place. Now, we are trying to add in allowance so he can earn some money. He’s starting to learn the concept of money, and we are hoping this helps him learn as well. In the midst of that, I’ve been trying to teach him some other chores outside the basics that he does. That means we stopped into Dollar General this week to pick up some needed items to get on our way to his new list of chores.
We picked up ALL™ detergent, Snuggle® fabric softener, and Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. I absolutely love the price, they were on sale, plus they come in single dose forms on the detergents. This is perfect when teaching a child how to do laundry, then I don’t have to worry about using too much or too little, he can easily put the packets in and turn on the washer then he’s on his way. He loved learning to do laundry, and I absolutely loved to teach him.
Next up, I had him start cleaning the stair rails, I’m honestly not sure why I hadn’t thought to have him doing that sooner, but now he is. He was immediately shocked at the amount of dirt on the rails, so hopefully that reminds him to keep cleaning them throughout the week. Better yet, maybe that will remind him that his hands are dirty and to wash them. There is a thought, right?
We were able to pick up all of our cleaning supplies at Dollar General and from 2/19-3/19 there is a great deal going, where you can save $5 on $15 of select products. We live out in the country and Dollar General is the closest store to us, so we are there all throughout the week. I absolutely love shopping there from cleaning supplies to even clothes, I can literally find all the extras we need throughout the week there. It makes it so much easier than going all the way back into town.
Now, we are back to getting our chore chart figured out for both of our kids and allowance for our son. Do you have any tips and tricks? This is all new to us, so we are trying to move into a good system that helps him learn responsibility too.
It’s time to Check out the savings that you can find at Dollar General.
