Old World Meaty Sandwiches are a great choice for dinner!
There are some nights where I just really do not feel like cooking a huge meal or we are just too busy for it, those nights make for great sandwich nights. Did you know though a sandwich night does not have to be boring? Nope, sure doesn’t!
Oscar Mayer has recently introduced Old World Style Pepperoni and Salami products that make a delicious Italian Style Meaty Sandwich. I decided to make these for a dinner night at our house, knowing that my son loves good pepperoni. I used a toasted ciabatta bread for the bun, then I piled the sandwich with a mix of Pepperoni and Salami along with some peppers, cheese, tomato, and a creamy Italian dressing.
Sound delicious? It was, my husband absolutely loved it. I made my son one that was a little bit modified since he is super picky and peppers on his sandwich would not have went over well for him.
These are actually fancy enough you could serve them up as appetizers too in a mini sandwich form. These sandwiches are both flavorful and convenient to make at home instead of having to go out to a deli to eat them. I love the quality of the meat too, it’s a much higher quality than the traditional pepperoni that I have typically purchased in the past.
These are all available in the refrigerated-meat section at grocery stores and they include several different varieties. In our household the pepperoni was by far the favorite. I am anxious to make a rustic grilled pizza with this pepperoni. Just the thought makes me hungry.
As you make these tasty sandwiches, get creative and add some fresh veggies from the garden to make this sandwich garden fresh.
Are you ready for lunch? Eat up!
Enjoy!
