Make memories and enjoy some fun times with your child and these Sofia the First Cookies! This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Disney Junior, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I mentioned last month about the all-new FRiYAY morning on Disney Channel, this month though I thought I’d share with you a little bit about our favorite, Sofia the First. My daughter loves to play dress up in her Sofia dress and watch the show in the morning. This summer, you can catch all NEW episodes of Sofia the First during the Disney Junior morning block on the Disney Channel between 6-10am. That means hours of all new shows that are great for your kids too. There are some brand new series too, so lots of fun to be had.
In celebration my daughter and I made Sofia the First Cookies. I wanted to keep these super simple so that they are easy for kids to make, now if you are like me and want the sugar pearls perfect…you are going to have to set that desire aside. I decided to make Cake Mix Sugar Cookies, and then I added a circle of icing using my star tip and sugar pearls. It was a beautiful cookie perfect for the little princess in your life. My daughter loved that they resembled a necklace a princess would wear. She gladly got dressed up in her Sofia the First outfit to enjoy a cookie and the show.
As we head into the summer, one of the items on our list was cooking and baking together, so far we’ve been able to do a lot of it. The hardest part for me is just realizing that it won’t always be perfect, but it’s a great bonding experience and a fun way to teach the kids the basics of cooking and baking too. I think you’d probably be surprised with how much they catch on to even at a young age. Although it was fun to make the cookies, outside of watching Sofia the First, my daughter’s favorite part was eating them. She loved them. I loved watching her too; she’s just so cute! I’m really trying to soak in all our time this summer together before she heads to school this fall. I feel like my son was just this age yesterday and really that was about 4 years ago…time just flies! That means I’m pretty thankful for Disney Junior so that we can spend some time watching wonderful programming geared just toward her age.
Have you checked out the new shows and episodes on FRiYAY this summer yet? We are enjoying our FRiYAY mornings now even more!
Enjoy!
