One Pan Chicken Taco Pasta is a great way to do dinner!

We all know that getting dinner on the table can be a hassle, right? Well, what if you could take a step out? Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it? I’m here to tell you that you can! Yes, good news, it’s time to take out having to boil and drain pasta. I don’t know about you, but that makes me SO excited!
We are a pasta family, we just love pasta. I am also a quick cook, I like to get dinner done as quickly as possible and still have a wonderful tasting meal. I guess that just goes without saying when you have kids.
What does dinner time look like for your family? I won’t lie, I’m typically trying to bribe my daughter to stay out of the kitchen so I can cook. My son will gladly go do homework while I cook, yes this kid LOVES homework. He really has a weird love of homework, it sort of makes me uncomfortable. What’s he hiding? Who is this kid? He loves homework? I don’t remember loving it that much, but then again I don’t remember actually having homework in first grade! When did that start?
I guess that’s beside the point though, my typical dinner cook time is with my daughter completely destroying my kitchen by getting everything out of the fridge, pantry, or even taking a dive in the trashcan. Meanwhile, my son is busily doing his homework…and I’m just going to stay in my happy corner ignoring the fact my kitchen is destroyed.
It’s only for a season. It’s only for a season. Repeat.
Now, back to the real reason I’m here, it’s all about this lifesaver that I was recently introduced to Barilla® Pronto™ Elbows. This wonderful pasta was created with us busy parents in mind. All you do is place the pasta in a large skillet or pan and then add a bit of water to it. After about 10 minutes the pasta is cooked and the water is nicely soaked into the pasta. That’s it, there is no need to drain it.
As soon as our pasta was cooked, I reduced the heat and mixed in taco seasoning, tomato sauce, pre-cooked shredded chicken, and chilies. I mixed this up and let it heat through about 5 minutes. Once it was done, I simply removed it from the heat and topped it with shredded cheese.
Kids, it’s time for dinner!
The kids will come flocking because what kid does not like a little pasta mixed with taco inspiration? None!
(or well maybe a few…but we will go with none!)
Ready for a delicious dinner? It’s time!
Enjoy!
