Hi! I am Kristy, creator of Homestead in the Heartland. For the past 7 years, I have spent my time working and building up Mommy Hates Cooking, a recipe website. I decided though it was time for a change and to branch out and share some of my other passions.
Several years ago, my husband and I bought our little, 1-acre, slice of country in Oklahoma and now we are enjoying every little bit of land on our homestead that we have. From gardening to adding new additions and updating different things, we enjoy updating our home and taking on new projects. We also enjoying sharing our passions with our kids too, we have 2 kids, 1 boy and 1 girl, and thankfully they enjoy the outdoors and also being creative just as much as we do!
I decided to start up Homestead in the Heartland to chronicle our lives, DIY projects, and Gardening. These DIY projects will include all things from home updates to sewing and redoing furniture as well. I have so many different ideas I’d love to share, so you’ll see all those here on this blog as the time goes on. My husband and I love to change things and create new things in our free time, so why not share it with you? This site will be full of different aspects of life and just things that I’m passionate about. I’m looking forward to enjoying a virtual cup of coffee and a good conversation with each of you.
Now, if you are looking for delicious food then by all means head to Mommy Hates Cooking too!
