Are you ready for some great smoked bacon that can easily be topped onto a smoked burger or served alongside your favorite breakfast? Today, I’m going to show you how simple it is to make Pellet Grill Bacon!
What pellets should you use?
A blend of pellets or hickory pellets brings out the best flavor in this bacon.
It’s up to you and your preference, we almost always go with the blend of pellets.
How long does it take to cook bacon on a pellet grill?
This recipe typically takes up to 20 minutes to fully cook but can go up to 35 minutes depending on how much heat your pellet grill generates.
The longest part of the process is going to be warming up the grill initially to 300*F.
Tips for Pellet Grill Bacon:
This bacon is laid directly on the grates of the pellet grill. It’s best to coat them with oil first, we use grapeseed oil spray because it has a higher smoke point.
This recipe is for brown sugar bacon, which does cook faster than plain or peppered bacon, so you may need to adjust the timing if you are not using brown sugared bacon.
Bacon can cook faster or slower depending on the cut of bacon used, so it’s very important to watch it closely the first time that you cook smoked bacon.
If you prefer when the bacon is done, place it on a paper towel-lined plate to get the remaining grease off the bacon.
It’s best served hot right off the grill, but can always be reheated later if needed.
This can be made on any pellet grill or smoker including Traeger as well.
