In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar.
Carefully add in the eggs, then continue to mix in the remaining ingredients until well combined.
Spray a 9x9 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or prepare a 9-inch cast iron skillet. Carefully spread the batter into the pan.
Bake for 35 minutes at 375*F or until slightly golden and fully cooked. If using an 8x8 pan, then the cooking time would need to be increased to 45 minutes.
To be sure it's fully cooked through, use the toothpick method through the deepest part and if it comes out clean then it's considered done.
Serve.

Notes: This works best in a 9x9 baking pan; however, you can use an 8x8 baking pan and a cast iron skillet but the cooking times will then vary.This was made with the scoop method of flour, not the spoon and level method.
