I just recently started trying out recipes from In the Small Kitchen. This cookbook chronicles different events that one may be cooking for, such as dinner parties, date nights, Sunday brunch. It is perfect for both the parent just trying to get dinner on the table or the lover of cooking that enjoys hosting parties.
I decided to try out the Yogurt Carbonara, since my family enjoyed my carbonara recipe I thought I would tweak this a bit to mimic my own recipe. The main difference in this recipe is the sauce. The sauce is based in Greek Yogurt. This was my first time cooking with this, and I was impressed with the flavor and texture. I also added the peas and chicken simply because that is the best way for my picky eater to get more nutrition. These are not in the original recipe.
One thing to note is that in the book this recipe is made to serve 1; however, I needed it to serve 4, so I have changed the servings. This dish is also best served fresh, not reheated.

- Pinch of Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 2 Cups Chicken Breast Cooked and Cubed (Optional)
- 1 Cup Frozen Peas thawed (Optional)
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the pasta as instructed in 1/2 Tsp salted water.
- While this is cooking mix together the yogurt, eggs, cheese, cinnamon, cayenne pepper and garlic salt. Next mix in the chicken and peas into the sauce.

I would love to receive this cookbook because I am one of the many parents who are trying to get healthly delicious meals on the table!!! I always have trouble coming up with new ideas for dinner. If I come up with new ideas on my own I end up with disasters like “cherry meat” or “doorstop meatloaf” as my family so lovingly calls them! Thanks!
I am also a fan on facebook and enjoy reading your posts!
ooh I love carbonara! I usually add bacon to mine. I’ve never tried with greek yogurt though, sounds interesting!
I’d love the cookbook as I just got my own place, and my first real kitchen to myself, and I love exploring with food. I love learning new recipes, and tweaking them to make them unique!

Hi! I would love this cookbook! I have a picky two year old and a picky 35 year old as well as a newborn. So I am always looking for new ideas for a dinner that will appeal to everyone’s tastebuds as well as my time constraints. 🙂 Will definitely be trying this recipe, but am thinking I may sub broccoli for peas since peas are the one and only vegetable that I am picky about! 🙂

Hi Kristy!
I would love to win this cookbook because I LOVE reading cookbooks, and because I am trying to incorporate new meals that are kid freindly for my 15 month old My husband is away right now with the army, so we have a special dinner every night at the table and I would be willing to bet that he is tired of the same things over and over
Thanks

I am pregnant and although it is 10am, that recipe absolutely made me drool! I do believe that’s what we’ll be having for dinner tonight =) I’d like to win the cookbook because basically, I NEED HELP! I have just recently started making an effort in the kitchen. I’ve never been good at cooking, & therefore ate a lot of frozen & boxed meals, but once we moved in together I felt bad that my fiance had to cook every meal for us. Since I’ve been trying to learn (and make him proud of my new skills!) I’ve found that it’s actually pretty enjoyable! That being said, I still need lots of help. I am constantly on your site as your recipes are easy enough for people like me who are still just starting out, but I would love to start a collection of cookbooks as well!
Also, I was already a fan on facebook =) Love the daily posts!

Already liked you on facebook.
I just found your blog via a friend as we are looking for fast, friendly recipes for when we have our babies in the near future. I have spent quite a bit of time on here already and found some great recipes. Thank you so much! The first ones I am going to try are the slow cooker creamy meatballs and the chicken alfredo pasta. Both seem VERY easy and great meals for when our baby arrives in about 5 weeks.
I would like to win this cookbook because I have the smallest kitchen in America I believe, and newly gluten free, at least this recipe is completely adaptable to my new eating lifestyle and I’d love to see what else is available!
