Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Once melted, whisk in the flour to form a smooth paste or roux. Keep whisking and cooking for 1-2 minutes.
Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, ground mustard, and salt. Continue to whisk well.
Cook for 1-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens to a smooth, gravy-like consistency.
Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
Mix until fully melted and smooth.
Serve.
Notes
Shred your own cheese block; pre-shredded cheese does not melt the same way.
