Combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and oil in a large mixing bowl.
On a greased cookie sheet or using a whoopie pan, pour the batter into small circles. I had enough batter to make 30 circles which made 15 whoopie pies. I made mine larger, so you may be able to make more depending on the size of your circles.
Bake these in the oven for 15 minutes. To be sure they are done insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean remove them from the oven.
Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Once completely cooled, apply a large portion of icing to the bottom of one side then add another one to make a sandwich.
In a small bowl mix a little bit of the gold and silver, then roll the side of the whoopie pie in it to coat the icing.
Continue to do this with each one until you have made all your whoopie pies.
