It’s time to buckle down and get this menu plan ready to go!
Did you all enjoy your Thanksgiving? Hopefully everyone had a great break and time with family.
I do enjoy it much more than I used to in years past. Nowadays, the kids are off all week, I try to make myself off most of the week and my husband is off the few days around Thanksgiving too.
Years ago, I worked retail and had to be at work either on Thanksgiving Day or the day after SUPER EARLY! We would get there and a line was already around the store.
This was a store too that didn’t really have ‘deals’ on Black Friday either. It was all marked down all the time, so basically the deal you got on Black Friday was the same deal you would get the next day too.
Of course, to the consumer, tricky advertising went a long way and apparently they didn’t realize this and lined up.
I guess that may speak volumes as to why this store is no longer around? And why I wasn’t there long?
Regardless, I spent lots of years in retail and lots of years having to work that time of the year. It took some of the fun out of the holidays for me in some ways at least spending time with my family.
I would get a little sad that I had to go back to work and everyone else was out shopping, but it is what it is I guess? One of the stores I worked at though was actually really fun during the holidays and I actually enjoyed going into work that time of year.
The whole store felt like family…so it has pros and cons I guess too.
In the meantime, we are heading right into Christmas.
That means holiday parties are about to be full steam ahead and it’s best to get a menu plan to stay on track.
Let’s get to it!
