Does the thought of getting into shape make you feel like this picture? It does to me!
This first week of the New Year is making me take a good look at how I want to establish a healthy lifestyle this year. I not only want to establish a healthy lifestyle for myself but also to have the energy to take care of my two precious kids! I am tired of being tired and worn out, I want to have the energy to at least partially keep up with them.
I know sometimes it is the resolution of so many to get back into shape each year and then it’s easy to slack off shortly after the new year. I used to hate going to the gym in January because it was so crowded then a month or so later it would be empty because so many stopped working out.
This year, I’m making it a goal to get back into shape primarily because I just had a baby so I have baby weight I want to loose along with some extra that I would love to go along with it! Not only that I want to catch up with my husband, this picture above was taken a few years ago. Since that picture he has lost nearly 60 lbs! He is in a very strenuous job now so he basically gets a workout daily which helped; however, I want to get into shape like that too!
I want to get my eating into a healthy routine including more fruits and veggies along with vitamins.
Now on top of the desire to eat healthy and get in shape, I also want to stay healthy and away from sickness! As the cold & flu season peaks, my family has recently been hit with the cold so we spent the weekend stocking up at Walgreens. Walgreens became a lifesaver for us because they were the only pharmacy in our area that was open 24 hours and after a visit to urgent care, we needed a prescription filled for my son immediately. We were able to go to Walgreens late at night and get it filled and he was feeling better by morning!
I found out that I can easily refill a prescription with the Walgreens app and transfer prescriptions with a simple snap of a picture. Not only could I do prescription refills but I can also purchase items directly from the app! I ended up stocking up on all sorts of cold & flu items along with vitamins. Then, even better I was able to earn Balance Rewards and get free shipping on my purchase over $25! That means all my personal care items were going to be delivered to my doorstep and with a new baby in tow, delivery to my doorstep is much appreciated!
The Balance Rewards program allows me to earn points on my every day purchases, which then accumulates into savings on future purchases. That keeps me coming back for all sorts of healthy living items such as vitamins and protein bars!
I am all set to get healthy this year, I have my medicine cabinet stocked which means I will hopefully stay in good health and protein bars, vitamins, fruit, and veggies ready to go! Now, I have to dust off my gym membership and workout clothes.
What steps are you taking to make this year a Happy & Healthy New Year?
