Our garden is planted!
We planted tomatoes, which included several varieties. We also planted squash, okra, beans, cucumbers, lettuce, carrots, onions, green onions, and many herbs and berries. There are several other items I am hoping to plant but also trying not to get carried away. I don’t want to over plant!
I always like to post beginning pictures because it looks like a pile of dirt now but in a few months it will be bustling with green!
One reason I am looking forward to fresh produce is because I’ll likely be making my own baby food around that time too! So, fresh produce will be perfect!
My favorite thing to plant are all the herbs. It’s so nice to just walk outside and trim my own herbs when I am making dinner. Now, if only I could figure out the trick to growing these year round. Any tips? Mine never seem to make it!
We also planted our flower beds over the weekend too. I love it when we finally have some color back into our front flower beds. We have one area in our flower beds that is just rock and a few pretty bushes that will grow up but currently are trimmed back. We really need to find something for that rock area because it’s almost like an eye sore. I thought about a bird bath, but I really do not want bird poop all over that area! So, maybe a bench? Maybe we will find the perfect gem at a garage sale this year.
Now…it’s time to keep on watering and hope for some good April showers this year to bring us those May flowers and produce!
Have you planted yet? I noticed many are still dealing with snow! Insane!

I feel SO BAD for those who are still buried in snow! I would die. I planted 2 weeks ago, and am already seeing sprouts from my beans, chives, and marigold seeds. I love fresh veggies. Looking forward to watching your garden progress. Keep us updated
Me too!!! I can’t believe this crazy weather!
