Spring means fresh air, lots of cleaning, and of course Spring Cupcakes! These cupcakes are the perfect way to Mix Up a Moment in the kitchen with the kids! Please remember this is a sponsored post by the J.M. Smucker Company; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
A few weeks ago, we had spring break in our area. Spring break means a few things like summer is just around the corner. We literally have less than 8 weeks left of school in our area and then it’s summer time! I’m looking forward to this summer especially after spring break. We had such a nice, relaxing week I’m anxious for summer now.
In the midst of our week, I decided to get my kids in the kitchen with me whipping up these Spring Cupcakes with Pillsbury. We made a quick trip to our local Walmart to pick up the Spring Funfetti Cake Mix along with the coordinating frosting.
I also found these cute eggs and chicks in a package nearby. They were already made too making it simple for the kids to help put them on the cupcakes.
We made the cupcakes as instructed on the package, then I used a Wilton 1M Tip to decorate the cupcakes with the icing. Once they were iced, we added the chicks and eggs to the top with a few sprinkles. It made for a simple and fun activity with the kids!
I really enjoyed watching my son help my daughter in the kitchen. He’s been cooking alongside me since he was a toddler, and now she is too.
It’s nice to see him help her with the things she can’t hold because they are ‘too heavy’, I cherish these moments because they are so fleeting.
It’s so important to spend time together as a family especially in the midst of some of the busyness today’s world can bring. One of my favorite things to do is share my love of cooking with my kids.
I hope that they share that same love some day and continue to bring their kids into the kitchen with them and pass on that tradition.
My daughter was so excited to try the cupcakes when they were finished. I’m pretty sure she licked the icing off at least half of them. This girl and her sweet tooth!
Right now, you can stock up and save on Pillsbury at Walmart with this coupon!
Plus, find even more ways to #MixUpAMoment with your family. Stay tuned because in a few weeks I’ll be sharing how we mix up some spring brownies!
