These drumsticks pair wonderfully with these Picnic Salad Recipes!
How long does it take to make Smoked Chicken Drumsticks on the pellet grill?
Chicken Drumsticks take about 2 hours at 250*F to smoke on a smoker or pellet grill.
This is going to vary depending on how much heat your smoker is putting out, but the internal temperature needs to reach at least 165*F to be considered done.
It’s best to have a meat thermometer on hand if you do not have a probe with your smoker or pellet grill.
What type of seasoning should you add to Smoked Chicken Drumsticks?
A simple seasoning that you see in the recipe below will work for these drumsticks, but I also really enjoy this Kick’n Chicken Seasoning from Weber.
This seasoning is gluten-free and a great one to use on a variety of chicken dishes throughout the year.
Tips for Making Smoked Chicken Drumsticks:
Any pellets can be used for this recipe; however, cherry, apple, and pecan work really well to compliment the meat and give a wonderful flavor.
Remember that these can be paired with any barbecue sauce as well or served as is, it’s totally up to you.
Homemade Barbecue Sauce
Pair this recipe with this Homemade Barbecue Sauce with your favorite grilled or smoked recipes.
The skin will stay on during the smoking and it actually adds some great flavor, but if you want to remove the skin first or avoid it altogether, you can always do that too.
This pairs wonderfully with Smoked Mac and Cheese or Pellet Grilled Baked Potatoes too.
