Slow Cooker Italian Sausage Chili is a great way to enjoy a delicious dinner!
Do you ever have days where you think, why didn’t I think of that before? That was basically my first thought when I was imagining this Slow Cooker Italian Sausage Chili. I was a little surprised in myself that I had not tried out my basic chili recipe with Italian Sausage. I decided to whip it up though with some Italian Sausage!
I absolutely love making chili this time of year, besides being easy, it’s also a crowd pleaser. We love to make a big pot of Slow Cooker Chili, then use it throughout the week too topped over hot dogs or on potatoes. I even love it with nachos too.
This chili is simple and has a boost of flavor by using the Italian Sausage instead of regular ground beef. I also decided to use kidney beans along with the chili beans. Typically, I tend to always stick with chili beans. I thought though the kidney beans would compliment the Italian Sausage well. It worked out splendidly and paired great with homemade cornbread.
As we were enjoying our bowl of chili, my husband and I also thought that it would work well to serve with garlic bread too. It’s not really the standard bread that goes alongside chili but since this is more of an Italian chili it would compliment it nicely.

- 1 lb Ground Mild Italian Sausage, Cooked
- 1 16 oz Cans of Chili Beans
- 1 16 oz Can of Kidney Beans
- 1 14.5 oz Can of Beef Broth
- 1 14.5 oz Can of Diced Tomatoes, Italian Flavor
- 2 Tsp Minced Onion
- 1 Garlic Clove
- 1 Tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 Cup of Ketchup
- Combine all ingredients in a 6 quart slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Serve with a side of your choice such as cornbread or garlic bread.
