Tips for Making Simple Guacamole:
Avocados for guacamole need to be ripe and somewhat soft so they are easy to mash up.
We’ve found it’s best to use a handheld potato masher to easily mash these up, but you can always use a fork too.
Hass Avocados are the most commonly used for guacamole. These have a great combination of oils and fats that make them easy to mash up in the guacamole too.
The avocado should lightly be squeezed in your hand and feel somewhat soft to be used. If it’s very firm, then you will want to wait to use those avocados.
These should be able to be easily mashed with a fork or masher by hand.
This guacamole can be made without onions too, but we do find the best flavor has onions in it.
When adding in the other vegetables, be sure to fold them in don’t mix them with a mixer or the tomatoes will crush. This recipe has chunks of tomato, not pureed.

We are avid guacamole lovers in my home. As much as we love it I’ve never tried to make it myself. Maybe I will give it a go and see how it turns out.
Yours looks delicious.
Your guacamole looks a lot like mine…I prefer it chunky as opposed to super smooth. I usually just serve mine with raw veggies or nachos but I think I’ll try making taquitos next time!
I LOVE guacamole!!!! This recipe sounds delicious and something that I’m going to have to make soon. Thanks for sharing!
Looks great!
