It’s time to get ready for fall and a little bit of Sautéed Butternut Squash paired with your dinner is the perfect way to start.
First things first, be sure to print off a coupon for Dorot so that you can pick it up at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods for possibly under $1! One of my favorite veggies to serve during the fall is Butternut Squash. It’s so delicious and perfect seasoned with a little bit of garlic and basil. I decided to whip up a batch of Sautéed Butternut Squash using Dorot.
Dorot is found in the frozen veggie aisle and it’s perfectly portion fresh herbs. These fresh herbs are frozen so that you can keep them much longer. My favorite aspect though is that they are perfectly portioned. One square of the frozen garlic is equivalent to one clove. I HATE peeling garlic, so this is the perfect option for me.
I decided to cut up some fresh butternut squash into cubes, then I also cut up a bundle of kale. Once I had my veggies cut, I added olive oil to a cast iron skillet and the frozen crushed garlic and basil cube from Dorot. I also added about 1/2 a teaspoon of sea salt. Then, I placed the veggies in and sautéed it in the herbs and oil for about 20 minutes.
The result was a delicious soft butternut squash with a hint of garlic and basil flavor. It was fall perfection! I love to serve this paired alongside steak.
Now, my husband and I like to enjoy this sitting out on our back porch with the crisp, fall air, which I sure hope is coming to Oklahoma soon. I’m so ready!
We also were excited to visit our new Trader Joe’s to pick up Dorot. Trader Joe’s just came to our town a few months ago and for us it’s still a bit of a drive, so this was our first trip there. The prices alone were perfection, then they also took coupons too. That was a bonus! I was able to use my Dorot coupon to pick up the product for just under $1! Be sure to stop by your local store and pick up Dorot, it’ll be in the frozen veggie aisle.
Enjoy!
